Are these dog-catching balls?
The reason I am asking is I am about to be a "pet owner" again (dog parks, etc.) and was thinking about getting into frisbee-doggin for fun :)

To my understanding jolly balls are for Equine There a big rubber ball some you can feel with water and a handle. Boomerball im not really sure i know they come in hard plastic and rubber. But to answer you jack there just means of self entertainment for your bulldogs.

Jollyballs are the only ones I have experience with. Scary is correct, they were originally created as indestructible rubber balls to prevent boredom in stalled horses, they had handles and tasted like apples, and the horses would toss them around (hopefully) instead of cribbing or pawing incessantly. The same company now makes much smaller jollyballs (some with handles, some with rope toys) for dogs to use, and they're just as effective for entertaining kenneled dogs. Almost all of my dogs have them, their size and durable rubber make them a great buy (you won't be picking up chunks of rubber out of the kennels, or at least I haven't yet) and if you have a dog that can't be trusted not to eat rope toys, the handled balls still enable them to chew and throw it around. They're the best lasting boredom buster I've found.

I use something called stressballs for pigs. They are a bit bigger than usuall bommerballs and imo they last a little longer (but basicly the same). Great exercise for dogs.

Just got six jolly balls, and three are now out of commission. Handles were torn up in less than five minutes. Once the handles were gone it created a hole and it just got bigger. I think the balls with no handles would work best. My dogs immediately attacked the handles and that was it. The ball itself seems to be able to take the punishment, but the handle is a flaw.
