Got a bitch who is great otc nice built little bitch ive had her near 2 months now i can take her for a walk but nothing else i can do for her i need to gain her trust so i can work her but its killing me i feel like shooting her bad.
Tried to worm her just before and swear she was gonna bite me proper wild sketchy dog been seriously abused or ignored.
Any tips on gaining trust?
I sit out back with her for about hour each morning feel like getting no where fast...

Thanks mate im trying i hate getting grown dogs give me a pup anyday...
i hate puppies, give me a grown dog anyday, lol.
it can be hard i know. picked up a 2,5 year male not socialised with anything last month, didnt move a step on the leash. now its a totaly different dog who's about to go down.
u need allot of patience, getting frustrated will make any problem worse. monkey see monkey do can work! and jack added some nice words to my thread ""consistency of routine."

Although I am not a fan, maybe all these cesar milan tricks could work, there must be plenty on youtube.
Actually, she may NOT come around. I have owned a few dogs whose genetic hardwiring made them so undesireable that I really wanted nothing to do with them. There are too many nice animals out there to work with than to have to tolerate some substandard piece of sketchy garbage, despite how popular their pedigree might be. I have culled dogs out of my breeding program that men could only dream of owning, on paper anyhow. Quality is where you find it. I don't care if the dog is a direct son or daughter of Dibo, the world does not need any more unstable bulldogs.

That is my way of thinking to mate im housing her on deal i get to breed her i dont feel it is genetic just neglected she 4 year old and never been for a walk let alone a good pat i rang the owner last night he said she had been beaten on ill just have to persavere and hope to win her over if not she going out mid next year if she not willing to let me help her she is gonna be in for a bad day...

TFX is right. I had a pup off Gr Ch YellowMan who was shy from day one. She would walk but wouldn't work, she had the biggest smile when you called her name. I hated that bitch, every time I or any one petted her she would piss. One day my older brother came from out of town and petted her and she liked him and didn't piss. He took her with him for a two years and brought her back. The bitch never changed and ended up getting culled. My advise is cull that dog or give it back to whoever you got it from especially if it tried biting you.

How long you had her? I'd wait on it if you dont got shit else to do.
if you need the chain spot then i'd get rid of her.

That is odd news.
Doesnt sound like a good idea to throw a shock collar on a dog that was abused, shy and skittish.
whatever works for you though. I'm guessing it is just a coincidence.
