Gametime, the dog is well bred within a line, I like that.

Like an old timer friend of mine and I have discussed many times though, a guy can look at pedigrees all day long and keep falling in love. Unfortunately in the real world, dogs with great pedigrees quit all the time.

When I was real young; 16 or 17, I started fooling with some local bred dogs down from the yards of some good Southern California dogmen, including Dale Mann, Wilkerson and Powell, and Larry McCaw. I ended up stopping all of that local stuff in anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes. I decided that I needed to step up and acquire some quality dogs, which I did. I started running in circles where people had the good stuff right up front. It was after rolling into and with a bunch of these "good" dogs that I began to appreciate the local bred stuff I had previously. Sure, none of them were deep game, but they were as game or gamer than many of the well bred dogs I was seeing. That was my first reality check of many about the bulldogs.

I have stopped stuff right off of Champions and Grand Champions, as well as Register of Merit producers. The one I often use as an example is the guy who brought a son of Gr. Ch. Andy Capp x Penny Sue (Andy Capp's dam) to my place years ago. At the time, Andy Capp had just finished his pit career a year or two before, and he was definitely one of the premier sires of the day. Several of the guys oohed and ahhhed as the fellow brought him in the pit. He was set down with a little nothing Koehler's Bull/CH Alien bred male. He started out rough, but was packing it in within the first 5 minutes. It took him a whole 16 minutes to completely quit and stand the line.

It really doesn't matter the bloodline, I have seen many well bred ones that wouldn't have lasted with that old local stuff I started with in the mid 80's. So I understand what Frosty Paws is saying, without knowing the dog itself, the parents and so forth, it is just another pedigree, but a nice pedigree. Sami the Arab is certainly a guy that played the game and Boomer was a good one by all accounts.

I like the way the dog is bred, interesting out on the bottom.
always interested in the boomer stuff know some crossed with wcc rocky blood.
