Anybody ever heard of it? A friend of mines text me this morning saying that a guy he knows went to vet after losing a pup or two with no explanation. The vet told him fading puppy syndrome. I'm sure if it's true we may know of it by a different name but I've never heard this term before. Anybody?

Yeah, we lost a pup in 2011 from FPS. He was doing fine, then went downhill fast. Our vet had no explanation either. Just told us it was FPS.

It's usually just a general term for a long list of reasons why a pup doesn't make it. I had one out of 10 like this in the last litter. Was great for about 3 weeks then went down hill. Bottle fed, gave some supps, kept it hydrated. I concluded that the pup wasn't absorbing its food right and sadly after all that care I had to put it down. I probly hung onto it too long, I wasn't about to give up on it so quick though. They don't all make it. SO many things can go wrong with the creation of new life.

never heard of this , got a pup rat now ! thats showing the symptoms i saw when i research ,i'm in the process of keeping it hydrated, giving it supplements with milk replacer, took it to vet last week, and he checked it out jus gave it shots, and wormed it .pup doesn't act sick though, it just falling off gradually, losing weight....no problem with his spirit though, active as hell!!
