Wow, a gallon of salmon oil for $27.95..??? That is a great price!

I see it is sold to be used for trapping but I can't see why it would not be fine for the dogs too..

Thanks for posting the link.

Does that mean its not good quality? I don't see how it could be unless mecury levels are just really high.

I contacted the company above who is in South Dakota. They import their salmon oil from Alaska. It is wild alaskan salmon oil. Wild Alaskan salmon has very low levels of mercury. There is no additives in their salmon oil. No preservatives or antifreeze (which is commonly used in trapping so the bait doesnt freeze). It may not be as filtered as some other oils but i dont think a few chunks of salmon are gonna hurt anything.

I ordered a gallon and would like to know how long will this stay fresh in the house where the temp is around 70 degrees? Can it be kept frozen?

I always keep my salmon oil in the fridge. I hear it can be frozen for longer term storage.

Since this salmon oil has no preservatives, I would not keep it at 70 degree temps, it would spoil pretty fast...

I ordered 2 gallons and it came today. Pretty fast service. It smells, looks, and tastes just like the lifeline salmon oil i had previously. No chunks, very clean oil actually. U can store it at 70 degrees so long as you keep as much air as possible out of the container. Just crush the bottle til u squeeze the air out of it every time u reseal it. Also try putting it into many smaller containers or freezing it if youd like. We have a few bitches that took and some litters coming up so im sure it wont be around long enough here that it will go bad.

I was thinking smaller containers and keeping them cool. This would be great to add to a RAW diet.

I just Salmon Oil again. It's a good deal. They just added Pressed Fish Oil. It cost a little less at $19.95 per gallon. Any huge difference between Alaskan Salmon Oil vs Pressed Fish Oil?

Are yall still using this stuff and with good success?

In the winter time with dogs not in keep. It is a great calorie adder and it is a good winter time supplement.

I avoid fish products when working a dog really hard.

I bought a gallon a couple months ago. It's good oil, I keep it refrigerated and work out of a 500ml water bottle as to keep it from spoiling.

You need to refrigerate it? I just ordered 2 gallons. I’ve never refrigerated any oil before.

I can't say for sure that it would be required but it is fish oil and it doesn't have any added preservatives in it. I've been told by several people that feed it that it will go sour if not refrigerated. I have the space so better safe than sorry.

Do a quick google search. It says that omega 3's are very susceptible to oxidation after being opened if exposed to heat etc and advised refrigeration after opening.

That's a great price, $27.95 for a gallon of Alaskan Salmon oil. I recently bought a gallon of it and it is good quality oil. Shipping was not too bad either.

In today’s climate it’s absolutely a great price.
