I have seriously thought about contacting the ADBA and asking for some pedigree information on some of my dogs ancestors. It would be nice to have the information that is on file with them instead of relying on something that may have been entered by a lemming following bad information. I sure as hell don't want to be the lemming.....and it could help with filling in other dogs pedigrees as well.

I got it from the Dog Archives Pedigree (http://dogarchive.kennel-apbt.com/details.php?id=75365).

It also makes sense, seeing as Red Bill was sired by Dibo out of Spotty ... and the bitch's name was Dotty :)

Lots of dogmen combine names to name the offspring of what they like best.

Yes, just click the "edit" link up top and you will see a blank for Dam. Simply type-in the correct name, and re-hook to the right dog.

(This would have been done automatically if I would have deleted the right dog :embarrassed:)

Now if a incomplete pedigree or one of the duplicate pedigrees has a picture attached,we moderators cannot remove the picture. Only the new owner of this site can remove a picture or a pedigree with a picture.

Now a duplicate pedigree that has siblings attached, unless the siblings can be moved to the correct pedigree. This pedigree also will have to be deleted by the new owner of this site.

Jack has given the videos on how to use this site.All should take time to watch them or let one of we the moderators know what one wishes to do before just putting incomplete pedigrees into the system. The pedigree id=8148 can be replaced with a new dog pedigree since it has no siblings. Not sure if you can but one of the moderates can.

I no longer have access to the on lines pedigrees site. In order to find some of the better pedigrees to bring over and replace these duplicate pedigrees etc.. Not much time lately to work on that duplicate pedigree list. I had got rid of a bunch of them. Some I could do nothing with.

The new owner may just wish to go in and delete the lot. Time will tell. Wish I had more time to work on this site. Like Jack it was starting to take up all my time. I do have a very good knowledge of the pedigrees all the way back to the 40's. I am 65 years young and need to spend more time with family/children/ grand children and my local church.

Is getting hard to keep this site from ending up like the mess over on the on lines pedigree site. I will not be on here much longer. Hope S_B and the other moderators can fix these worthless incomplete pedigrees. To make it worse even attache a picture to them to boot. Nothing to cheer about here.

Ditto Swamp Dweller. Took care of pedigree id=8148. Found a dog that C.Middleton had told me about. These duplicates like this 8148 ped are easy to fix if one has a new dog pedigree to use. Ones with siblings you can not move or has a picture attache even we the moderators can not fix those. Hope the new owner of this site is real computer savvy. LOL I am certainly not.

Hope the new owner of this site keeps this site civil and not allow a lot of foul language back and forth between members. If allows it, will end up no better than what is going on on the on line pedigree site. To many computer dog men over there. Sure some are the real deal. The great dog men I knew were easy going and calm types. You can always tell the real good dog men from the rest on how well cared for their dogs look and the over all condition of the dog yard. Seems the owner is saying that Wood's Voodoo and Morgan's Voodoo Jr are sibling brothers. The Morgan & Tree's Voodoo is no kin. By adding those double names of Morgan & Tree's Voodoo. Instead of just Tree's Voodoo. Would create less confusion.

Also adding D. Wood's is confusing, best put Woods and add the D.Woods as owner or breeder. No need also to put all those letters and Dat Nigga black dog what ever. Jack wanted all that stopped. I even had to go back and fix a pile of dogs I had added a initial to the dogs name. Have taken care of the LSK's Bingo Boy dog and will fix the other.

That is another problem. Later someone comes along adds same dog into the system with a picture instead of just putting picture to existing pedigree and ask one of use to fix any needed corrections.

Hello BrickFace take a look at what is left of the duplicate Male and duplicate female dog section. Ones with pictures is all that is left. You can try and merge them, but do not see why if they have no siblings. With those you can just remove the picture and leave in Duplicate status. I can replace them with another dog pedigree.

There is a Duplicate ped #3 and ped duplicate # something in the male section. I tried to use them,but kept getting could not change the sex due to being a parent Blah blah blah. LOL So gave up on them. You may have to delete them due to some sort of computer glitch. Yikes Say What!!!!

Took care of those Duplicate ped #. All is left is Duplicate peds with a picture. Remove the pictures/leave them in Duplicate status. Will replace them as well without deleting or merging anything. Would you merge a no sibling pedigree with same picture to Pedigree with same picture and has all the siblings attached to it? Starting back into those Garner dogs sure more have been duplicated. Over 500 dogs to check. Cheers

Ditto Brick Face was not that many, thank Goodness. All the Garner male and female dogs checked out O.K. for now. Were some duplicates and double named dogs. Corrected all that. If I attributed a dog own by you to Garner. Let me know will fix. You do not need to show dogs registered to two dog persons, only the one that bought and owned the dog last. Where another breeder made a breeding off said dog in a earlier breeding. Can list this in the narrative.

Putting a dog into the system registered by five different owners over it's lifetime will create havoc on this pedigree system. Just list the person that is the last owner of the dog. Rest of info in the narrative. Find a dog bred by a previous owner of said dog. But showing new dog owner. Just list the info in the narrative.

I know we all have our dog heroes,but once they sell a dog or puppy. It becomes the next owner's dog no matter what transpired by any previous owners. Cheers

One last thing, is very unwise to post dog pictures that show a dog that has been rolled or whatever and is bloodied. Do not think for one moment if not already, a Peta or Humane society person could be trolling or lurking on this site. Most are trying to learn the lingo and try to talk the talk.

I am always leery of those who want to see pictures of your dogs. Plenty of pictures on here of various dogs already. Or ask worthless questions that make very little sense. This site is for pedigree research/old history and proper dog care etc. of the APBT. Cheers

That breeding If I remember correctly shows where some of those 70's early 80's dogs belong on the correct generation line up. Seeing a lot of made up stuff lately. Saw one pedigree with Tudor's Spike in the same generation line up as J. Crenshaw's Honey Bunch and his Rascal dog. LOL Cheers

You have a new dog pedigree male or female with a complete pedigree. Just use that duplicate ped and add your new dog. If your dog is a male make sure to change the sex status. If not I will later use that D. Ped to add a new dog.

Trying to find the dog's pedigree in the incomplete pedigrees we have on here and fix. Some cannot be found. But many do have the info on at least one of those other sites. Cheers

Black Betty was bred by me, that breeding posted by Cooperroad is a fraud 1 she was under 6months at the time posted 2 I never spoke with Cooper road and 3 she didn't leave my yard till she was almost a year and it wasn't to Cooper rd. As for Dirty diamond she is my bitch, I have not looked at her ped as I didn't post it but she was acquired by me from Ldk. She turns 3 this month.

Rak, I can not access the on lines pedigree site. Two pedigree sites I can access, one shows Jeep as sire and the other Chinaman. This Brodt's Ninja looks more like a Chinaman dog than a Jeep dog. Do you have another pedigree source to confirm Jeep. I have been using basically three pedigree sites,sometimes a fourth site if it comes up.

Which pedigrees agree the most I go with that one when in doubt. Right now with what I have to use. I am at a 50/50 decision. Hello Brick Face and other moderators. Need some input on this matter. You learn something new all the time. Came across this..

Fifteen years or so ago, a man from Atlanta called me and identified himself as someone who had spent quite a bit of time with Don Brodt over the years. He told me that he had purchased a collection of Sporting Dog Journals from Brodt a couple of months earlier and while looking through one of them he discovered a stationery sized piece of white paper that had some interesting pedigrees handwritten (in Don Brodt's distinctive handwriting) on it in pencil. One portion of what appeared to be a trial ad for the SDJ listed Brodt's Ninja and showed him being off Garner's Ch Chinaman and Brodt's Bandit. Make what you will of it: I found it to be more than a little bit interesting. I also ran across an old breeding calender while doing some office cleaning tonight. This particular calendar has entries on June 16, 17 and 18 of 1986 that record my matings of Chinaman with Bandit on those days. Interesting bits of history. -Tom Garner

All of the above are corrected Rak. Anyone wishing to add a new dog pedigree. Use those duplicate pedigree in male or female first to get rid of those. Will be using that already assigned # and computer slot instead of wasting it with a ugly delete slot in it's place.

Those deleted slots are ugly, like scars in the system and sometimes have siblings still attached. Creates more confusion as if there is not enough already. Cheers.
