Okay, I have finally got it so each person can now upload and store his/her own photos here on our server.

Any Subscribed Member (http://www.thepitbullbible.com/forum/howto.php) can now create multiple Albums, each of which can hold multiple photos in it. Subscribed members can post up to a total of 500 images!

http://www.thepitbullbible.com/tutorials/albums.jpg (http://www.thepitbullbible.com/forum/album.php?u=1)
Here are My Albums (http://www.thepitbullbible.com/forum/album.php?u=1) for you to check out.

But it gets better! Not only can you post the typical .gif, .jpg, and .png images ... but you can also post Microsoft Word documents, Adobe .pdf documents, and more! (This means we can share medical references, letters, etc.) Your images can also be HUGE, up to 1200 x 1200 pixels-wide! All of your Albums will be kept under your user name, and they can be shared anywhere on the internet via provided URLs and BB Codes. (In other words, you don't need Photobucket anymore!) Therefore, if you want to post more photos than what you're allowed on just the pedigree database ... such as scanned historical letters, photos of famous dogmen, or whatever BULLDOG-RELATED items of interest you may have, as a member you are free to do so now :)

For a full tutorial on how to create your own photo albums watch this DVD :)

Among the photos I have put up so far are one of me and Lester Hughes taken back in 1990, Reylson Gracie (of jiu-jitsu fame) playing with Vise-Grip's Pretty Boy, as well as some truly historical memorabilia. Among the historical memorabilia I have posted, include letters I got from Mr. Hollingsworth back in 1992, right after I made the breeding that produced Poncho and Missy—as well as a letter I got from Russian Bill proving that Anderson's Ch Tonka is really off of Patrick's Pinky not Red Baby! Here is the envelope of the letter from hollingsworth:

Letter from Hollingsworth
http://www.thepitbullbible.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=219&d=1380906775 (http://www.thepitbullbible.com/forum/album.php?u=1)

You too can share all of your cool dog-related letters, images, etc.!

Plus, when people click on any photo, they can also comment on (or ask questions about) any particular photo that interests you (must be a Subscribed Member to comment). The point is, not only can we share cool, historical stuff with each other, but if we all participate in and share our historical photos/experiences, etc., the Albums (http://www.thepitbullbible.com/forum/album.php) feature will ultimately be a great source of knowledge interest for Subscribed Members.

The more people who decide to climb onboard and use this Resource, the more fun (and important!) this Resource will become for all

BLAST FROM THE PAST: CA Jack with Poncho & Missy, circa 1993, almost exactly 2 decades ago today ...

Damn, I was skinny back then

Guys, post your historical photos here, either of you (if you've been in awhile) or someone else if you took it.

Remember, you have the ability to create your own Albums (http://www.thepitbullbible.com/forum/album.php) and store hundreds of photos to your account here (you no longer need Photobucket, etc.). We can use this thread to share with other members many of the historical photos we have, over and above any actual dog photos saved on the pedigree page.

Let's have some fun

Great picture Jack. See you kept those dogs nice and tucked up. Best be sitting on ready when the time came to get one ready. Seen dogs snatched off the chain hog fat and tried to be put in shape in four or six weeks. The results more than often were never good.

Was one advantage in the South. Warmer weather and less harsh winters allowed one to keep dogs leaner.

Yep, exactly.

I was in the high desert ... 110-115 degrees in summer ... no trees ... a dog's shade board was (literally) the only thing between life and death out there ... and you definitely didn't want them fat if you had to make "roll call"

Officially Retired

Thank you for posting a photo, Top Shelf, but maybe I didn't make myself clear. The idea is not just to post your "historical photos" from Photobucket ... but to use the Albums feature of this database (http://www.thepitbullbible.com/forum/album.php) to do so.

For example, here are My Albums (http://www.thepitbullbible.com/forum/album.php?u=1) for you to check out.
http://www.thepitbullbible.com/tutorials/albums.jpg (http://www.thepitbullbible.com/forum/album.php?u=1)

The idea is to really take advantage of the resources here ... you don't need to use Photobucket anymore, your images can just be uploaded to your Albums here on this database. Better still, you can create multiple folders and categorize everything for easier reference for your viewers :)

So, YES, keep posting your historical data here, but ONLY do so by using the Albums feature (http://www.thepitbullbible.com/forum/album.php) ;)

Thank you,

Jack

I downloaded about 10 pics but none of them actually stayed loaded.

Sorry about that, it happened to me too. Here is how to avoid this from happening:

1) You will notice that, after you upload, you need to close the Upload Window;
2) After you close the Upload Window, you will see a field which allows you to change the name of the photo, add information, etc.;
3) There is a Save Button under that field, and if you fail to click the Save Button your image will not be posted, so make sure you click the Save Button and it will save

Let me know how it works out!

Have to admit, I got a lump in my throat when I came across this photo ... taken almost 3 years ago by Tina after we all had a wonderful hike in the woods.

I have never been closer to any dog than Silverback (and his mama Missy). Poncho was great, but was an asshole to keep. Stormbringer was great, but dangerous and couldn't be a house dog.

Silverback was great ... but was also a perfect companion and house dog. Never ate trash or ruined anything. Never pissed in the house. Always happy, always obedient, never caused me any trouble ... AND was a world class athlete to boot.

Of all the dogs I have bred over the years, if I could get "one" dog back it would be Silverback. (Missy, Jezebel, and Screamer would be honorable mentions ...)

Like the looks of Jacoba

at home they all called by their color
its either black , brindle , red ,

before 2000 they would get their names from movies
for example
hence Ch Keyser Soze and Jackie Brown

in 2000 I started with abbreviations
for example

MOYA ( Medieval on your ass)
ISYM ( i'll show you mouth)
COOD ( cur out or die)
LOM ( last of the mohicans )

Jacoba was built like a tank , 40 pounds and 15 inches, no way I could have won with a dog like that
I gave her to a hunter who hunted badgers , she was very good , escaped one night and went straight into the lurchers and got lost

One of my favorites MOYA

sometimes a dog is that good ( and his owner so cocky ) the only way to get him hooked is to agree on a 30 minute timelimit

That is great, going through your old photos and posting them up.

I have a boxful myself, and a scanner, both sitting right next to me, and some day (or probably over many, many days) I hope to get all the photos of every dog I ever had posted on the database.

Keep in mind a couple of things: 1) you can post up to 4 photos right here on the database, plus a video, under each of your dog's pedigrees too, and 2) If you have more photos than that, and/or if you have letters/photos of you and other dogmen, etc., if you learn to hook up your own personal Photo Album here (http://www.thepitbullbible.com/forum/content.php?237), you can share that way, and really chronicle and categorize everything too 8)

Figured you might want to know that ... as a Bulldog Historian

Thanks again for sharing ... musta been hard to lose the 18 year old.

Thanks again amigo. That is what this place is really all about: for the connoisseur to be able to post all of their images they've accumulated over the years, both of their own dogs as well as others'. (Plus videos!)
Every other site only allows for only 1 photo and no videos. We not only have 4 places on each individual dog's pedigree, but you can also load your own personal experiences on to Your Own Personal Album (http://www.thepitbullbible.com/forum/content.php?237), which can hold all the photos you want, and can be categorized however you want, and which is yet another great (but little-used) feature here.

I wanted to write up a little remembrance of sorts for Cecil Pond but there is no way I could do it like my partner. Cecil was his mentor and like a big brother some 40yrs ago. Threw the years they got to see what is now history to us.

Cecil Pond was mentored by Frank Fitzwater owner of Fitzwater's Goldie. Cecil was there for the birth of Dibo. He owned Dibo's half brother Duke and a very good grandson named maverick along with a host of others. Cecil is pictured in a photo my partner has that is somewhere on the net helping an elder Frank Fitzwater out the box his last show ever. He was also mentioned by Ed Crenshaw in his interview. He was there for the classic of Bullyson and his son. I will post that flyer to though and you will see just how historic that event was. I had the privilege to discuss the change in dogs build, gameness, and some old history with Cecil and friends like Weldon Stockton, my partner, and others whom I will let my partner write about if I can get him an account. I can only laugh replaying a story of an old trip to mexico and an ass whooping and lesson well learned about Mexican authorities lol. It was a privilege to be around you Cecil and thanks for the few memories in a short time. Enough of my limited memories. Here are a few photos.

I've read the letters from these envelopes but have to look threw my papers to post them.

This one I believe held a letter and invite to the Classic Bullyson show from Don Mayfield. Which may I add many greats were on that card.

This one is from Howard Heinzl. I guy not long ago claimed to have a letter from him but as was told to me and as you can see he had a unique signature.

I have to reboot real fast

Those were the good ol days ... wow, US Convention with 12 shows

Did you know you can create your own album to store your historical memorabilia in?

And here is a video (http://www.thepitbullbible.com/forum/content.php?237) showing you how to set up your own :)

Thanks for sharing,

It is.

I was fortunate enough to spend about 5 years with one of the true competitors in the sport (faced guys like Mayfield, Burton, Junior Bush, Crenshaw, Strothers, Hargrove, Tant, Indian Sonny, Miller, Rebel Kennels, Meador, etc.) ... and was behind such dogs as these: Gr Ch Dooley (8xW), Gr Ch Zinc (6xW) (http://www.thepitbullbible.com/forum/bulldog_profile.php?dog_id=21083), Gr Ch Robert T (9xW) (http://www.thepitbullbible.com/forum/bulldog_profile.php?dog_id=9965), Ch Robert T Jr. (4xW) (http://www.thepitbullbible.com/forum/bulldog_profile.php?dog_id=36301), Gr Ch Tornado (10xW) (http://www.thepitbullbible.com/forum/bulldog_profile.php?dog_id=9349), Gr Ch Junior (6xW) (http://www.thepitbullbible.com/forum/bulldog_profile.php?dog_id=9955) ... and faced such dogs as Gr Ch Luthor (5xW) (http://www.thepitbullbible.com/forum/bulldog_profile.php?dog_id=22110), Gr Ch Sampson (5xW, 5x BIS) (http://www.thepitbullbible.com/forum/bulldog_profile.php?dog_id=33990), Gr Ch Outlaw (7xW) (http://www.thepitbullbible.com/forum/bulldog_profile.php?dog_id=3304), Gr Ch Melonhead (14xW) (http://www.thepitbullbible.com/forum/bulldog_profile.php?dog_id=27180), etc.

The dude was a virtual treasure trove of core gamedog history, including the fact he personally saw the original Eli (http://www.thepitbullbible.com/forum/bulldog_profile.php?dog_id=454) go, as well as BullySon (http://www.thepitbullbible.com/forum/bulldog_profile.php?dog_id=85) and Eli Jr (http://www.thepitbullbible.com/forum/bulldog_profile.php?dog_id=975).

I know there must've been some very interesting tidbits of knowledge and history pasted there. I have some private photos of a couple of Rebels dogs that still haven't hit the net. I've been trying to get more but in time I will. I think it'll cost me a road trip as I'm being taunted now about never going to make it out lol. I'll get there and get though. I'll have to look through your album. I know you have some nice memorabilia.

No, unfortunately. He doesn't know the pedigree of most of his dogs, including the bottomside of Robert T Jr.

I didn't know Zinc's pedigree until I saw it already up. Same with the original Robert T. It was already up on PedsOnline (the Old Man didn't know it).

I saw that Ch Dooley on here (and on PedsOnline), but I am not sure that's the same dog.

The old man told me the Dooley he ran into Melonhead was an 8xW. If you look at the story on Melonhead (http://www.thepitbullbible.com/forum/bulldog_profile.php?dog_id=27180&thumbnail=3), the Dooley in there was said to have only won 2 fights, and then lost to Melonhead in 2:40. That is the right match and right owner of the dog. The Old Man told me that Dooley fought a perfect fight, and was one of the best dogs he ever had, but that Melonhead was beyond a perfect dog. His Dooley dog did nothing wrong, fought with everything he had, yet just could not overcome THE TOTAL PACKAGE WALL that Melonhead was. When I asked if he knew about Melonhead's later defeat, he said he didn't see the deal, but he felt someone had to rub/cheat in some way to be able to beat Melonhead. He didn't think it was possible for that dog to lose (and he's been around many of the best dogs in the history of the sport).

Anyway, he never personally reported any match, to any magazine, ever, so I don't know what to say about the "2xW" comment in the mag.
I doubt The Old Man was mistaken on his dog's # of wins.
Either the writer of the mag got it wrong, or The Old Man (who was known to con people at pit side to get the money in his favor) said he only won 2 at pitside, I don't know.

But he told me Dooley was an 8xW but lost to Melonhead in close to 3 hours, 100% DG.

I also think this was before Little John's time, so I don't think it would be a son of Little John either.

Had a 15-hr day yesterday, and didn't have time to do much, but maybe this weekend I will roll-up my sleeves and join you in a photo-load effort.

I agree, all pedigrees "come to life" with photos, and I wish everyone would pitch-in and realize this.

I'm getting an itch of motivation from you two also. Bill Carr has a boat load of pics he said I could take and copy. Lots of them are pit side! :D Also many that need developed, that will be interesting. lol

I intend on sharing many of them here. Jack the fact that you own the server is very appealing to me, and it is comforting because it is known. I hope this site can continue on for ever and be a permanent source for the history of our bulldogs.

Thank you ... and my sincere condolences to you.

My dad is 87; my mom is 78.

We all know our parents have to go sometime, but we hope that they are "the exception."

The real trip is ... next in line will be us

I think we as dogmen can take death better, since we're so used to losing our favorite dogs, again and again, that we develop a thicker skin about death than most people (who don't experience loss as often as we).

Silverback was the last thing I loved that I lost. It's not the same as a parent, but similar enough so that I don't like to think about it.

It will be hard to deal with when mine go ... that is one of the reasons I moved back to CA was to be close to my folks again, while they're still here.

Bulldog Anonymous, I am very sorry to hear about your mother. That is always a hard loss. And Jack, I hope both your parents well be around a few more years. Time flies and we were all young once. Enjoy them while they are still here. Bamaman, sorry for your loss too.

Back to topic, here are a few old 19th century to early 20th century paintings of bulldogs that you all might enjoy seeing… The first one "Bill" is very small, the dog house one is medium size, and the brindle gyp is a huge painting, almost life size.
