Someone told me pups need to get sunlight. My question is how much?
If I build a above grond pen on the west side of my yard near the wood line. The pups will get the morning sun before its to hot and just after noon when its the hottest they'll be shaded. And in winter theyll get sun as long as it last cause its only hardwoods where im at.

What brought this up wad last winter I had some pup that kinda looked flat footed. But they grew out of it. The pen they was in gets plenty of sun in the winter but almost no direct sun in the summer cause I built it in a real shaded spot.

Thanks in advance

Absolutely.

Without sunlight, a pup will get ricketts.

Sunlight helps create & process vitamin D and calcium for proper bone growth and development.

Yes, as long as they get a few hours of sunlight a day (but always have shade if they need it), they should be fine.

Good luck,
