Congratulations to Wildchild's Prime Ape (1xW) (http://www.thepitbullbible.com/forum/bulldog_profile.php?dog_id=25429), who just won his first in almost 2 hours against a slightly larger foe.

In school Prime Ape (a 31) proved that he could finish early ... but he was put to the test in his first outing against a heavy-mouthed Eli/Cottingham dog (@32) ... Blood & War's Kissed ... who (after :15 of getting barnstormed by Prime Ape) really hurt PA in the shoulders. But Prime Ape regrouped, and proved he had a lot of tricks to draw from, outclassing & out-gutting his foe in the trenches, like a true Poncho dog, finally stopping his dangerous opponent in 1:43. And, just to put a punctuation mark on it, after the Kissed dog took his 10-count, Prime Ape pile-drived him in the corner with a courtesy 8)

Prime Ape: Congratulations.

Jack: I noticed the test breeding you did of Prime Ape to Amazon, is this a breeding you're planning to make anytime soon?

Yes, thank you. The bad news is I was going to breed my Amazon (http://www.thepitbullbible.com/forum/bulldog_profile.php?dog_id=222) bitch to him this week ... to double-up on Silverback ... but Prime Ape is not in any condition to be bred right now.

But the good news is he is okay, and proved his gameness and well-roundedness for all to see, on top of his ability to close the deal early.

So next time Amazon comes in heat, there will definitely be a Prime Ape x Amazon (http://www.thepitbullbible.com/forum/bulldog_testbreeding.php?sire_id=25429&dam_id=222) breeding 8)

As I listened to more of the story, I have to admit that I was (at first) a little bummed that Prime Ape didn't get yet another blowout. That is what I was expecting. Yet what Prime Ape did do was display a level of gameness that is fairly uncommon in dogs (even among my own gamer-than-average dogs).

First of all, his opponent was exceptionally-strong, a little bigger, and according to Wildchild "bit like a 60-lb dog." (Nobody in the local area wanted anything to do with Prime Ape, until someone thought they really had something.)
Secondly, the opponent was in top condition and never blew hot once ... while Prime Ape ran hot (and recovered) twice.

Prime Ape came out like he always did: 100mph just barnstorming, but ran hot at :15 which is when the Kissed dog really rooted deep into his shoulder, balled Prime Ape up, and had him hollaring. Prime Ape's shoulder really got jacked-up, and that is when all the "head dog" genes in Prime Ape then came out. He slowly and deliberately got the Kissed dog out and from that point on started to ride the head like a pro, completely befuddling the dog for a good long while. According to Wildchild, Prime Ape was as good or better on the head as a son of Icon he had, and he recovered from being hot and was soon outclassing his opponent like dogs more typical of my line.

After the hour mark, Prime Ape again started to run hot, and the Kissed dog was really driving hard toward the back end, and (thanks to some bullshit moves from the opposing side, who blocked Prime Ape, this allowed the opponent to hit the stifles). So the Kissed dog finally blew through the back door and was shaking the bejesus out of Prime Ape's backend. Prime Ape was on his back, curled-up, he could not get the dog out with his ear hold ... and he couldn't reach his nose or jaw either ... and so he basically was just laying there really getting worked over bad in the ass-end by a bigger, stronger, harder-mouthed dog (who was fresher too).

And here's where Prime Ape showed his quality ...

Normally, deep in the trenches, when a dog gets hot, loses his advantage, and then gets downed, overwhelmed, and is being worked over severely in the backend ... and can't get the opponent out ... that is when the fat lady will almost invariable start singing ... but not so with Prime Ape!

Realizing he couldn't get the dog out, and was on his back getting murdered, Prime Ape (with dogged determination) worked his way back to standing up ... stiffly ... and then he just grabbed his opponent's shoulder and started shaking the F- out of him ... over and over ... Prime Ape just started shaking and rooting ... and it was his opponent who came out of the backend (even though he was the one with the advantage) ... to get Prime Ape out of his shoulder. The opponent couldn't and then tried to get into Prime Ape's shoulder ... but Prime Ape (slick as he was) fell onto his own exposed shoulder to keep it out of the way ... and then got back on the head and re-established total control of his opponent again ... and from there it was pretty much a wrap.

Even though I didn't see it, I have seen enough to know that the way Prime Ape handled being in a bad spot ... standing up 100% resolved to "hurt back" rather than allow himself to be overwhelmed by a backdoor specialist ... he showed an uncommon degree of gameness and determination ... which, again, was punctuated by his pile-driving courtesy scratch into his beaten opponent. To come back from running hot, being out-bitten, and physically overpowered ... on nothing but brains, athleticism, and 100% determination to prevail ... is, to me, what gameness is all about.

So I am very proud of this badass, tough, smart, and extremely determined little doggie

The number I have for him isn't working ... and I want to set up a breeding to his Prime Ape (http://www.thepitbullbible.com/forum/bulldog_profile.php?dog_id=25429) dog with Amazon (http://www.thepitbullbible.com/forum/bulldog_profile.php?dog_id=222) ... so if anyone has his most current number, please PM it to me.

Thanks,

Jack
