Are you referring to the Mr K's Loposay Buster x Carver bred dogs? Like Mr. K's Whitey that is a sire to a Merle dog?

No Rattler was no Merle. A Merle coat on a dog is one that has mottled patches of color on an open marked (pied) or solid coat. There was no mottling to Rattlers coat, just an odd placement of pigment. Personally I've never seen a legit bulldog that was Merle.

Thanks that preety much answered my question. I was confused as to weather the "speckled" dogs was considered merle

Is there a picture of the Rattler dog on this site? How is the dog's name listed and pedigree ID? Or is there a picture of the dog on the on lines ped site? Cheers

The small underlying points of pigment are referred to as ticking.

A lot of the dogs i have are down from a half sister to Rattler, off Justice. I get some really funky ticking and open marked dogs or tri colored dogs or blue eyed dogs all down from that.

Ditto Fellows. Now I know what you are talking about. My Young's Tina bitch and Young's (Jackson's CH Coal Cat) were ticked under the skin like that. I named Coal Cat her name due to her skin looking like white snow with small specks of coal in the snow. LOL Coal Cat was a exact clone look alike of Heinzl's Polly bitch. Mr. Coplin owned Polly's full sister named Coplin's Molly.

That color on your dogs is another trait showing you are stirring up the old foundational genes. Usually these odd ball looking type dogs are good game dogs that can produce better than themselves. I know color does not make dogs win or lose or even better. But if you have access to all the older history, books, pictures, which I did at one time. You start seeing certain traits in the better inbred/linebred dogs. This I was told is a throw back to some of the old Feeley dogs or maybe the Henry dogs. Not sure anymore.

Like those Tan & Tan dogs, Black & Tan, Salt and Pepper grey black color, this merle color. Sometimes two china blue eyes, or screw tail etc. To me not a bad thing to see but good. Way back, when someone told me they had certain line bred/inbred old family bloodlines. I always wanted to see the dogs. Generally they are going to look a certain way in color and build.

When I went on the you tube to look at different dog yards of today. I must confess due to the mixing of so many different families in the 80's and into the 2000 era. They all looked very similar to me. Oh by the way very nice looking dog you have. Like that color myself. Cheers

Fellows if you do not mind me saying this. Bring all yours and these well bred dogs pedigrees over to our site with their pictures. I just feel that the on lines ped site will soon fade off the scene. Got a young guy from over there asking for Jack's site address now. Fixing to send it over to him. I think he is getting tired of so called internet dog men like that foul mouth Skeel Hunter or whatever he calls himself. Posting all sorts of filthy useless mindless crap on his topic post. When he was asking for some info. on Waccamaw's Red Bull dog. Cheers

Definitely a throw back to some of the older blood...
