This is an unanswerable question.
Now I want YOU to use your brain and tell "me" why ... ;)

You didn't answer my question.
I am trying to get you TO THINK on you own.
I asked you to explain why it is impossible to answer your question as to which is the "better dog" in a Gamest in Show or Best in Show designation, across the board in every instance.
So you take a stab and answer my question, and I will elaborate if I think you put enough effort into using your own brain.
And please use punctuation, thanks.

One of the best hounds I have fed was a 1xGL, GIS. In school he ran over 2 2xers and 2 3xers. As fate would have it he sustained an injury in his first show that lead me to pick him up. Im very confident he would have won that night, but it would have possibly cost me his life.
I have won BIS (in around 1:20) with what turned out to be a 10min cur. I have also had the pleasure of showing a few that put on nearly perfect displays of their craft, but never recieved a trophy. Had they been shown at a large enough event to warrant trophies then they surely would have won them.
So IMO, todays best in show could be tommorows piece of doodoo, but a truely game dog is always going to be game.

The way we see it is this.. We want the Best in Show dog, because that's the dog that won. Gamest in show doesn't necessarily mean you won, but you tried extremely hard. Not taking anything away from the GIS dog.
Now to say, "which is better?" Who knows. Sit them both down and find out.
Both have their place. I would not think one can be ranked ahead of the other. If I am breeding a family of dogs, perpetuating that family, and running that family, then next month/next year the Gamest in Show would carry more value as I am breeding to that dog as well as his 'like' family. Best in Show means a win. That could be a complete destruction, a come from behind or even a extreme finisher. All those are great on show night.
The only absolute in these dogs is there are no absolutes. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder is so true, especially in the dogs. I doubt there is a right or wrong answer to the question. EWO
