Jack, out of all your breeding combinations. Which would you say you liked best and why? Poncho/Coca cola, poncho/mayday, poncho/big john or missy/ouch... I loved my p/cc bitch. She was a ball of fire and sweet as hell, just a true treasure... Me n my kids miss that bitch, boi... rip gurl

I can't really narrow it down to "one" that is "best," as there have been so many that have been good. When you've bred dogs for over 20 years, and produced as many good dogs as I have over the years, how can I possibly narrow it all down to just 1 breeding? There have been dozens of key animals that I have had over the years, and so yours is an unanswerable question. I will tell you what I will do, though, is I will post the 10 dogs that I wish I could have all over again to base my yard on:
Males:
(Ranked according to age)
Poncho (http://www.apbt.online-pedigrees.com/public/printPedigree.php?dog_id=1033)[/*:m:23sq35yk]
Stormbringer (http://www.apbt.online-pedigrees.com/modules.php?name=Public&file=printPedigree&dog_id=1041) or Thunder (http://www.apbt.online-pedigrees.com/modules.php?name=Public&file=printPedigree&dog_id=1040)[/*:m:23sq35yk]
Hornet (http://www.apbt.online-pedigrees.com/modules.php?name=Public&file=printPedigree&dog_id=1039)[/*:m:23sq35yk]

Screamer (http://www.apbt.online-pedigrees.com/modules.php?name=Public&file=printPedigree&dog_id=1046)[/*:m:23sq35yk]

These are probably the most important dogs I have ever bred, to me, though some of them died young and never got the chance to shine. Still, in narrowing down to just these dogs, I am really short-changing the whole history of my yard, as I have left out A TON of dogs I still wish I had ... and that were great dogs in their own rights ... but this is what I could think of off the top of my head :)
Cheers,
Jack

Thanks for your time... I, for some reason, thought you like the poncho/mayday the best. Thanks again

You certainly never got that idea from me.
There are fans of this combination who feel this way, but while I am proud of the accomplishments achieved by members of this cross, I have never favored them "above all else." Therefore, even though there is no doubt that it was an excellent breeding combination, they just were not complete enough dogs as I personally prefer dogs to be. As mentioned in another thread, the best of the Poncho/Mayday dogs were rough, brutal dogs worthy of respect and admiration. However, with the exception of Ch Miagi, none of them was really all that tactical in its approach. They were just rough, tough, brutal dogs. At worst, however, they were dumb and not as dependably-game as some of the low-abilty dogs of other combinations.
I personally like smart athletes, not dumb bruisers. If I had to choose my favorite straight cross Poncho/Mayday dogs ... it would be some kind of toss-up between Hero, Mister, Poncho Jr, and ManO'War (as pups I liked Hero the best, and from what I heard he was also very smart) ... so, like I said previously, in narrowing "my favorites" down to just a few dogs, I am really short-changing the whole history of my yard ... as I have left out A TON of dogs I still wish I had ... and that were great dogs in their own rights.
That is what I don't like about these "What is the best?" kinds of questions, because just by answering you by default leave out a lot of great dogs.
