Pit bull friendly insurance company's

This is an important question: hope some folks can help out.

State Farm, Farmers, Shelter and Allstate are 4 larger insurance companies that do (each state may be different).
You can also have an agent check into companies who will write an exclusion, meaning they will not cover or protect you the homeowner or your assets should your dog(s) attack someone.

Some insurances do carry a additional rider clause for dogs that includes Pit Bulls. But may just be for one dog at a time. So could really add up. Just have to call Allstate/ State Farm etc. and ask. Do not let on you already have the dogs on your property.

If you have some major damage to Home or a on site building etc. You have the dogs with no rider added. Some agents may cancel your policy and pay you nothing. Sort of like when these Race fans down my way, take their Cars out on the Southern 500 Race Car track. While they are on the track, they have no insurance.

Some years back a guy had bought a new Chevy with a high performance engine. Was letting it rip around the top of the Track. The Car over heated and caught on fire and burned up. Guy had no insurance due to being on the track. His car installment payments still came due each month. Yikes!!! Cheers

You might be able to get your home, etc., insured ... but where pit bulls are listed as an exclusion.

It is actually NOT a good idea "not to tell" the company ... because, if you have a big loss (and they don't know you have a pit bull), they can deny you coverage for "material misrepresentation."

However, if you DO tell them, and they write an EXCLUSION for pit bulls, you're okay.

In other words, you're covered for everything else, but if your bulldog bites someone you're shit outta luck.

I use a small family one that my grandfather put me on to my house ,grandparents and parents use them it cost me $50 a year extra. As long as the dog never bite anyone prior they have no problem. When I first bought the house we tried a few other big companies and it was ridiculous. I know this doesn't really help but try to find a small one.

Thanks fellow dogmen for your help. They insured my house and didn't include the dogs. It was an small insurance company also.

Nothing wrong with that. Just have to make sure you have "people-friendly" doggies :mrgreen:
