bladder close up

A week after surgery to get the stones out that were in his dick his bladder closed up. after another sx to open his bladder the vet wanted to put him down. i wouldnt let him. now my stud has started showing the same signs that his bladder is closed again. what would you do. pay another vet are go ahead and let yyour 7 year old stud rip

I would 1) get THE EXACT MEDICAL TERM for his condition ... since I have never heard of "bladder closed up" ... and 2) then I would get a second opinion, from a specialist, as to what your options are for that condition.

thanks. i the vet told me the condition but when u talking about euretha??? and then tell me common english i just go with that. but the cord that supplies the pee to his dick has sore tissue on it. the vet cleared it one time and said that it might grow back and i guess it has cause he has stopped eating again and balled up in a knot when he walks so i know he hurting

What are you feeding? What did he say is the cause of the sore?

i amback feeding raw now but he wont it. the vet had him on s/d. science diet. its a med that dissloves stones. the vet says that wolf has a larger than normal bone in his dick and that it has scare tissue on it fromm the blood that he was pee when he had the stones. he got it cleaned up but said that it might come back or it might not. my guess is that it has come back because last time he stopped eating just like this. i just got back from another vet to get a second opinion and he is an older vet that we use for aftermath. he gave wolf 2 pet tabs and a b12 shot and said that he should start back eating; and that his bladder feels fine to him. lol. he is old. any advice or a vet a good vet is welcome. i live in louisiana but will travel if it can save my dog.

I agree with S_B, it sounds like you're doing what you can.

Very surprised to hear any dog won't eat raw. What, exactly, are you feeding him?

The best thing you did was get him off that S/D; it's the worst food in existence.

I have a question for yall. since wolf is peeing out the back of his dick and he is going down, is it possible to just take sperm out of his sack before he passes. maybe take his nuts and perserve the sperm out of them? i know it sounds stupid but i already had plans of getting sperm off him before the stones occured. this might sound like a rookie question but i wasnt a breeder until this dog

1) You didn't answer my question as to what you're feeding him;

2) I don't know what "peeing out the back of his dick" means. Most dog dicks I've seen only have a front :lol:

3) No, you can't freeze his balls; you can only start collecting him now.

4) In order to provide help, you have to actually answer the questions you're asked ... so what, exactly, are you feeding him?

i feed a leg quarter, 2 eggs, a slice of calf liver, yugort, greens, sweet potatoes, a pet tab, geritil and wheat grem oil. He pee out of holes that the vet place in his the back of his dick so he could pee past the stones that were lodged in the front of his dick that they couldnt get out the 1st surgery. i called brittmoore vet in houston that i was going to use to collect his sperm before all this happen to ask them could they get sperm being that he urinated out of the holes and they told me no because he had to be jacked off but what im asking is; he is going down fast so is there a process where they can like surgery remove sperm without jacking off. and i dont want to sound stupid when i call the vet in the morning

now when eating he will pick the liver out of it and the eggs he will lick them raw if i dont boil them so yesterday a went bought some ensure and adding that and he licked some of it

I would not make him his food anymore, as he's not eating enough to stay healthy.

Instead, I would go right to a local PetCo or PetSmart and buy Nature's Variety InstinctRaw Patties (http://www.instinctpetfood.com/product/instinct-grain-free-raw-frozen-chicken-diet-8-oz-patties-12-count).
You will see a refrigerator near the food section with the word INSTINCT on top.

They're expensive, but they will 1) save you time and 2) give your dog a complete meal.
I am positive he will eat all of this.

I can't believe they couldn't remove the stones from his penis. Don't understand why they can't slice the urethra, get the stone, and sew shut.

UPDATE: well i drove to Brittmore animal clinic in houston today and they are some of the best in the buzz at storing/collecting sperm. The vet said that he could collect sperm out the back holes of his dick but that it was no need to because he will be around for awhile so lets get him up and eating. after blood work and running a cat through his front to check if the stones were there ( and they were gone) the blood work came back that his blood plaqlids (i cant spelled) were down. so he kept him and said that he would have live good sperm stored by next week. Long story short its not his bladder and he will live. Thanks again. #dogmansite

Glad to hear this. I would dam sure stop by the first 2 vets with my new bill an for some of my money back an see what say. If they say yes or no the last think I would tell them they will never see any of my money or my friends money again.
