Good morning, my dog seems to have been bitten/stung by some kind of insect (probably a wasp). She has a little lump above he eye socket and she has swelling around her eye. Her eye is watery and irritated. What can I do to relieve the irritation and take care of this issue asap. Any help/info would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
MEAUX

What is the dosage for Benadryl?

I personally wouldn't give benadryl. Typically the swelling will subside in a couple of hours.
You could put an ice pack on it. Probably would be much appreciated from the dog as it's HOT outside.

There could be a rare instance where your dog has an allergic reaction to the sting in which case I'd imagine a vet would give benadryl + steriods. But never in my experience has one of mine needed attention.

Good luck!

And should you want to give benadryl anyway, the adult dose on the label will be just fine.
