Hi just throwing this up, so what are your thoughts and past experiences in the approach of having washed sand over dirt apposed to just having dirt over chain spots and or kennel runs, do you see any advantages with sand  would this reduce the impact if there were to be any soil born diseases or would this multiply :embarrassed: and more chances of harboring soil born diseases due to a temperature change in sub soils  Cheers Matt

I used sand before without any issue but used cable instead of chain because they would entrench them real quick. You would have to be out there with a shovel twice a day if you have a dog that moves a lot. The sand was too light and chain too heavy, bad combo.

I would never have any kennel runs on dirt.

As far as chain spots go, sand is not the way to go.

If you're going to add something to minimize diseases, it should be rocksalt or lyme.
