I don't have a match report on it, so I have not been able to put a positive ID on which "Nigger" dog fought that battle, nor which dog prevailed, though I heard both dogs were good biters & it still went 3 hours. Does anyone know if it is Mayfield's Nigger ROM, Hernandez' GR CH Nigger, or some other dog w/the same name, & also which dog won? Thanks for your time.
It was Henandez' Nigger. Not sure who won that one. I believe both these dogs got beat or picked up at later dates. These matches were reported and maybe some pics in those paper bound Pete Spark's book collection. Randy Fox may have better information than me. Since I no longer have any of those books. Cheers

Thank you for the information.
Our site shows Hernandez' Nigger as a Gr CH and one of the wins may have been over M. Carver's Cracker dog. A popular descendent of the Hernandez Nigger dog through M. Carver's Speedy bitch. Was a dog named Carver's Tiger Jack.
Loposay bought this dog and was one of the first Maurice Carver dogs introduced into N.C. and S.C. area. A good dog in our area was CH A. Howel's Buckshot bred off Loposay's Tiger Jack x Loposay's Beanie. I might add the better dogs that Loposay bred up over time, were off that Loposay's Beanie bitch. The Beanie bitch was bred off my deceased friend and mentor Egan Skinner's, a Cotton's Bullet x Lighter bloodline.
A. Howel's Buckshot bred to A. Howel's Lady (W. Martin's Lady) and produced a litter. I might add here that W. Martin was the original owner of the Bass Tramp Red Boy dog. One bitch pup out of the Buckshot x Lady breeding, Snakeman (T. Davis) bought from A. Howel. This pup was Snakeman's Shelby. You follow out that pedigree and you will see Snakeman's Shelby was the founding bitch of the Snakeman/Fat Bill dogs. Cheers
Looking at dog id= 1797 and dog id = 486 on this site. Hernandez' Nigger dog won all it's matches and it was the M. Carver's dog Cracker that lost to Hernandez' Nigger dog. This match and pictures were in one of the Pete Spark's magazines. Note M. Carver knew good dogs period and got some of that breeding. Cheers

Thank you for your detailed & courteous replies. Apologies for the lateness: I stupidly did not subscribe to a thread that I created! An oversight on my part. Thank you again for all that information, I shall try to trace out that pedigree.

Curious to see if anyone has any blood down from Mr. Hernandez.
Hello Masputo. Probably the only dogs that has any of that blood line on the east coast was through the Fat Bill dogs. A. Howle's Buck Shot was a good dog with mouth. His sibling brother Watkin's Ox was about as sorry as Buckshot was a good dog. I see the Ox dog shown as a champion. I seriously doubt that.
V. Jackson worked Ox and had him in great shape for the dog show with A. Brewer's Snooty dog. After it was all over, Watkins and group asked V.J. if he would work Ox for a second weight pulling dog event. His answer was not no but Hell No.
Believe Mr. Lamm had a sibling brother to Buckshot that may have been a good dog. In one of the Howle's Buckshot dog shows, a dog man out of I assume pride, maybe just wanting to win or draw at all cost. Would not pick up his losing dog. Howle reluctantly sent Buckshot in and finished the other dog off. Buckshot was a finisher if it came to that. The other dog named Obie was a two time winner off Mr. R. Dailey's Am Staff x APBT crossed dogs from Sumter S.C. Obie was a dead game dog that never made a bad move.
Was a scratch to win in the agreement, this dog man figured Buckshot would not scratch to a dead dog, sadly was proven wrong. Loposay bred his Loposay's (Carver's) Tiger Jack dog a good bit back then along with his Bullet/Colby dog studs. F. Jacobs and Mr. Carl Mims would know more about what become of most of the Loposay's (Carver's) Tiger Jack strain of dogs.
Any bloodlines today with the Hernandez dogs in it would be out West into ole Mexico. Some say that the older Carver/E. Crenshaw lines of dogs are still around and owned by various Mexican families down Mexico way. You can see that Mr. Boudreaux was the main breeder behind the Herandez bloodline.
I added a name corrected pedigree as Loposay's Tiger Jack. Loposay obtained the Tiger Jack dog from M. Carver. Should be shown as Loposay's Tiger Jack. The Carver's Tiger Jack dog pedigree has a syntax problem. Cheers

Cool.I know he owned Zeke and a dog off Hard Eyes. Thanks for your time CYJ.
I have the 1955 pit report yearbook but the nigger it talks about was bred by Pitts. What year Pit Report mag is it in? There's also a Robert's Tiger Jack. Is he the same as Loposay (carver's) Tiger Jack?
EGK, I believe Hernandez Nigger and M. Carver's Cracker dog were dogs in the early to mid Sixties dogs. Loposay's (Carver's) Tiger Jack was around in the late 60's to early 70's. The match of the Hernandez Nigger X M. Carver's Cracker, along with the pictures are in one of the bound volume books from Pete Sparks. I had them all at one time. Hernandez' Nigger dog was bred by Boudreaux and was a heavy Blind Billy bred dog. Cheers
