I live in East Texas.Very sandy. Like powder fine sand. Very wet. Rains a lot here.
I have been getting some skin problems.
I have been having hell with Fleas. I've treated the ground, the dogs, the bedding etc.
Does anyone have BONAFIDE BAD ASS solution here?
I have a feed store guy getting me some cloreperafis (sp?) - says it's 44% durasban. Said he had a flea break out in this barn a while back and it was insane. Said he sprayed with this stuff and hasn't seen a flea since. I asked when that what, she says, "10 years ago". Stuff is used on fruit so I would assume safe on pets as longs as it dries thoroughly.
Any suggestions are helpful.
The Termidor is a total bust here. It has worked for me in other places, but it does NOTHING here.

Have you tried the full treatment (http://www.thepitbullbible.com/forum/content.php?161) at the bottom of the article?

I've done just about everything you have there Jack PLUS!
There are several coon and fox hound guys in this area. I have only been here about a year and a half. No problems until about 2 months ago.
These SOB's are relentless.
I finally got the Chlorpyrifos. Guy had a stable and barn in a state that he describe as "crawling with fleas". Said he treated his barn one time with this stuff and has never had fleas since. That was 10 years ago.
I'm going to put this stuff through a huge spray rig, remove all dogs, spray the entire yard, plus some, and see how that pans out for me. In addition, I will treat bedding/housing, wash dogs and treat them as well, all according to the stuff you have put together.
I haven't had a flea or tick on my yard of around 10-15 dogs (fluctuates) since about 2011. I have never seen anything like it out here. I can't remember if you lived in Florida at one time Jack or do not, but I would think the climate could be somewhat similar. It's pretty wet here, extremely humid and very sandy. I lived in far west Tx and it's sandy, but it's true sand. Very gritty stuff. This stuff in east Tx is like powder, literally, when dry enough, like baby powder. I don't know if it's the combo of the sand and climate, or the thick vegetation, or what it could be, but I'm about to wage war on these suckers. I have my pymethrin spray subscribed with your stuff and have been hitting them with that about every 3rd day until I get this spray out this weekend. I'll keep everyone posted on how it works. Suppose to be safe with food/crops and when dry, premises. Hopefully, it does the trick

My bad I see u already tried termidor....Just keep spraying and change bedding man that's about all you can do.
I make the permethrin mix in the pump sprayer with the mineral oil. It works for the most part. Every now and then, especially when it is hot, then rain and then hot again. The ground serves as a virtual incubator. I spray the termidor on the ground as well as the pernethrin. Here in NC, because of the heat, the humidity and the rain they come in waves. I stay flea and tick free just about all the time then a wave will hit. I can have a dog with fleas on him and the dog next to him not have a one. It is a constant battle. I just bought a bottle of the Bayer Tree and Shrub and will make a run with it.
The Dursban is kick ass. It worked wonders around here for a number of years. The like all good products, they made them 'by licensed professionals only'. If you can use it in your area it worked well here. EWO

Be careful with Chlorpyrifos (http://www.chlorpyrifos.org/chlorpyrifos-the-health-dangers.php).
I have lived in FL, yes, but the worst fleas I ever had were in Nashville.
They would swim in sevin dust, gargle with Frontline, and rinse with Advantix
However, that COMPLETE regimen I linked to worked ...

Ahhhh I used generic front line last time and sprayed and changed bedding and yes it was Pet Armor ...OK pet armor will not work everywhere but I got lucky and it worked for me...frontline is a joke here .

Jack, I think I have your Tenn version of fleas.
You other guys describe my place too. Fleas all over one dog, dog next to her won't have a damn flea. Crazy stuff.
I'm band aiding the dogs right now with spray and spot on. Empty houses right now (barrels). As soon as work allows, I'm spraying the Chlorpyrifos, scrubbing and treating the dogs and bedding and see where it takes me

Keep your grass cut really short so moisture will dry up faster. Also move your houses and spray that area and allow the sun to dry that spot before u move the house back. And yes remove bedding and burn it and replace with fresh bedding.Just a couple more ideas that may help you.I also had luck with the gneric front line called Pet Armor and frontline doesn't work here at all but Pet Armor worked well and why I guess ingredients must be a little different..But the pet armor and spraying helped me get it under control.
