Use this thread to announce any pedigree that you think should be transferred to "you" as the dog's owner.

If the dog is dead, and not actually owned by you, then we will just leave it as-is (trust me, there are a TON of "Vise-Grip" dogs entered in by others, that I am not going to bother changing to "my name" either.)

However, if you just bought the dog, or still own the dog, then logic holds you should have control over your own animal. In order for me to transfer ownership to you,

You MUST

1. Post THE FULL URL to each dog;

Do not just leave "dog name" or the # of the dog here, or I will not bother to look for it. Post THE FULL URL of EVERY dog you need control over as well as your User ID#.

Please be patient, as this is going to be an ongoing effort, and I can't sit here all day doing it ... but I will try to do my best to get to each one.

PS: Also, if you do own the dog, but can't edit it, you probably entered it a long time ago (so it is considered a "core dog" and not editable anymore). If you need this changed, we can do so, if you post the FULL URL ... if you only post the #, your question will be ignored.)

Working on this now.

Before, I had to log into my main server, login to the database, and individually search for each dog ... to make 1 change. Big hassle.

We are adding an insertion point, right next to the Created By text on each dog's page (that only I can see) where I can just insert the true owner's User ID right there and make an ownership change.

That will greatly enhance my ability (and thus willingness, lol) to quickly transfer ownership from one member to another.

With the people above, they already entered their own dog, which became a Core Dog ... which is a new concept where we made every dog entered a Core Dog, so only I could edit them ... but where we also included a Yes/No switch to give back permission to current, living dogs owned by the user ... and so I just switched these people's dogs from Yes to No (regarding Core Dog status) enabling them to control their own-entered dog.

Bulldog Anonymous. What is the Bud Man's dog owner name? Thinking Bud Man is two words and would be Garner's Bud Man, or Wood's Bud Man or Woods' Bud Man.

a lot of dogs are being entered with just a name or with these Garner dogs. A Garner's & T-Wood's Bud Man etc. Need only a one full name of dog and last owner. Any double names that may be on other pedigree sites can be put into the narrative.

I had all of the Garner's dogs under one listing. Now I am seeing some duplicate double named dogs. We need to fix. Just got all those Bert Sorrells' and Rick Sorrells' dogs under one listing with duplicates that can be replaced later instead of just deleting. Cheers

Jack, glad to see you've restored my ability to pull up the pedigrees that I've entered, but the function to allow me to edit the names of the dogs that I've entered incorrectly isn't working. I've even went back and re watched the how to video. :-)

Make sure you clean-up the ones where you only put the dog name.

Jack either I'm missing something or we are having a break down in communication. All of these dogs that you gave me my permission back to add the owners name with the dogs name are my dogs and have always had my name attached to the dogs name. Now, when you told me to fix my mistakes.. i don't believe these were the dogs you intended on me fixing (unless I'm not understanding what you want) because the way i entered them already has my name included with the dogs name.

Now i did enter other dogs that i didn't include an owners name with the dogs name, but i don't own these dogs, therefore when you first took everyones rights to edit away from them and then asked us to request only the dogs that we own to be put back under our dogs, (MY PEDIGREES) i requested the above mentioned dogs.

These four dogs are the only dogs that i know of that i didn't attach a human name with the dogs name, and i need the ability to edit them to get square with you.

Now that you have control of them, **YOU** need to make some changes :angry:

You do NOT enter bullshit names like BSBK'S CLYDE AKA EPPINETTE'S "C" (http://www.thepitbullbible.com/forum/bulldog_profile.php?dog_id=12581)

The dog is either BSBK's Clyde ... or it is Eppinette's C (not "C") ... you do NOT put two or three different names in the pedigree. And you do NOT put quotation marks.

The same is true with BSBK'S BIG MIA AKA GARNER'S NORWOOD (http://www.thepitbullbible.com/forum/bulldog_profile.php?dog_id=12562)

Again, you do NOT put bullshit like this in the database. My guess is Garner bred the dog, and the papers say Garner's Norwood, so put the proper name on the dog and please don't put a bunch of GD names into one pedigree.

If you want to mention her "call name," there is a space for that, or you can put it in the NOTES, but do *not* enter multiple names (or "quotation marks") into the official, registered name of the dog.

With the change in the permissions, please fix the name.

D.Chavis is not a valid name.
D. Chavis is a valid name.

There should be a space between the D. and the Chavis, you don't just smash them all together.

This error also corrupts searches for the name Chavis.

I notice you have the repeated and consistent habit of running the period of the initial into the last name in every freakin thing you do (C.Rand in breeders, rather than C. Rand, etc.).
Again, smashing two names together, instead of creating a space between the names, ruins search capability.
For that matter, why can't you just put in their FULL names? Does it have to be D. Tant or does David Tant look better on a pedigree? Etc., etc.

You also have the incredibly annoying habit of calling Kennels "Knls"

Is there some reason you can't just do things completely and correctly?

Is it really that hard to spell out the word Kennels?

Is it really that hard to push the space bar to create room between D. and Chavis and C. and Rand?
Do you even need to use initials at all (what's wrong with just putting the whole name)?

I will admit you make good use of the apostrophe, so there seems to be hope for you (LOL), but please correct every instance of data entry error you've done ... and please break yourself from these lazy, lame, search-destroying, guarantees of duplicate data entry from your submissions. STOP using initials, STOP making abbreviations, and START doing things completely and correctly

It really is okay not to take shortcuts but to just do things properly :)

By the way how many champion offspring must a male dog have to has produced in order to achieve the status of R.O.M. over here? Knowing that the requirement has changed from three to four champions. And Chan's Floyd Jr. has produced three champions. If so I would ALSO mark him as being a R.O.M. producer.

I entered Floyd Jr.'s champion offspring to the database the other day which would make him a R.O.M. dog if we would go by the outdated system which required three instead of four champion offspring for a male in order to receive the R.O.M. title. I simply can't recall when it changed. That annoys me because I know I read it somewhere not long ago but I couldn't find it in a quick way. Does anybody know when the R.O.M. system exactly changed? Does anybody know the exact requirements for P.O.R.?

Recently I see so many dogs entered with their names spelled XXX'/YYY's dog name or XXX' (YYY's) dog name. I know this was an absolute no-go and could and in most cases would cause you to lose your ability to enter pedigrees to the database when Jack owned The Pit Bull Bible. If and when the dog had more than one name or was also known under another name you would have to put them in the notes. For example Lowery's Lil' Red is also known as Antohin's Moca. How is that matter handled today?

You did not enter the pedigrees listed which is why you are not able to edit them. Sounds like you would like to be able to so I will give you ownership so you can.

I don't know what your seeing as far as dogs with multiple names being entered. Unless the person enters a photo you will not be able to see dogs entered like that.

Nut, I thought if any pedigree is entered by a full member. That person still has access to that pedigree. The only change was that only the owner of this site, being Brick Face can delete any dogs or delete any pictures.

If all these pedigrees you have shown are yours. Thought I saw one that S_B had enetered. They appear to be correct. You are good to go. None have any siblings as of yet. You can start replacing some of those duplicate pedigrees with no pictures or siblings with the siblings to these above mentioned dog. Cheers

The owner of the dogs is my friend. He does not have an account here, never had and wants me to be able to edit them. Just like I could when we decided to enter them here. Before our rights were taken.
We do not want to post in the forum every time a picture, name or title needs editing.

Ditto Nut, yes you entered all of the above pedigrees. Was another pedigree I may have looked at previous to yours. I stand corrected.

The reason while you or me do not have full control over these pedigrees is because of what Projectx did. He almost crashed the site and screwed up a whole lot of pedigrees and lost some others.

Not saying you would. But some dog men on these sites like to play their marble games with their own marbles. Get mad about anything, they like to take their pedigrees and go home or to some other site with their pedigrees. Not caring that these pedigrees are good for all of the dog fraternity for research purposes.

IMHO, I think it is best that Brick Face has the most important controls over this site. So no one like Projectx can screw this dog site up again like that past event. The one change I would like to see is the moderators being able to remove a picture off of a duplicate pedigree with no offspring so that slot can be replaced with a new dog pedigree. Just deleting stuff is not the best way to go IMHO.

Since you do not understand me about this duplicate dog pedigree thing. S_B and the other moderators do. Just belay that,you can add your new dog siblings that pertain to those dogs you have listed above. I have already about gotten rid of all of those duplicate pedigrees with no pictures and siblings anyhow.

Brick Face may can better explain while none of us can no longer have full control of these pedigrees. CA Jack at one time did allow this, but so many incomplete, badly written pedigrees,duplicates etc and crap like Projectx did. Forced Jack to change the rules. Cheers

Ca. Jack clearly told us all why he did what he did. I think it was for the best. After I became a moderator, I saw a lot of unnecessary crap was done on this site. It was fast becoming as corrupted as the on lines pedigree site.
