QUESTION FOR JACK OR ANY OTHER KNOWLEDGEABLE PERSON...IS IT POSSIBLE TO STORE FROZEN SEMEN AT HOME USING A REGULAR FREEZER OR EVEN USE A PURCHASED FREEZER JUST FOR SEMEN TO BE STORED AT HOME...THANKS FOR INPUT!!!! :D

I wish i knew i dont see why not tom does it at his kennels.

You can store semen at home, but not in your freezer. It's not frozen like a TV dinner :D :lol:

You have to buy special liquid nitrogen freezing capabilities. If you're interested, you can contact Camelot Farms (http://www.camelotfarms.com/) for more info, but it's not cheap.

It has to be stored at a constant -320 Fahrenheit.

The problem with self storage is the up keep. I only pay $2.50 per straw per year with my guy. He has to take his tanks to get them filled about every 3 to 4 months. It would be quite a ordeal if he didn't have a lift on his truck. I think it is much safer and economical to have someone you trust store it. Provided you have that option.
