View Full Version : what is the difference between Doxycycline Hyclate and Doxycycline

my dog got kennel cough and my vet said to use Doxycycline and in jacks book it said to use bird biotic but bird biotic is Doxycycline Hyclate.Is there any difference?should i give more or less,is it bad for a dog?any help on this would be appreciated. also is kennel cough really that life threatening iv read most vets just let it take its course my vet said she is only 10 months she could get pneumonia and die.

I believe the only difference are how they are compounded to make the drug. There isn't a difference in how they are used or what bacteria they treat.

thinks s_b my vet told me to take the weight of the dog and divide it by 2.5 and multiply by 5 now i forget to ask him how long do i give it for
