So the wife is kicking ass again. We went to a APA pull in NC this weekend. They had two pulls on one day. Her puppy Laster's Abel To Risk It ( Risk ) pulled very well for her his top pull at 41 lbs was 2050lbs in the 1st show and in the 2nd show 1850lbs. He took a 2nd ad a 1st place.

This dog was gifted to us as a 7 week old puppy and has done very well for the wife

First of all, congratulations to you (and to the wife) on your accomplishments!

But second, I was researching your dog's pedigree and I saw an interesting factoid worthy of comment. Back a few generations is the dog Super Gnat's Gr Ch Ace (6xW) (http://www.apbt.online-pedigrees.com/modules.php?name=Public&file=printPedigree&dog_id=12260).

What is so interesting about this dog is the fact he is off of a son of Honeybunch bred to a daughter of Gr Ch Zebo. Well, the great Honeybunch was once bred directly to the great Zebo, and it produced a litterful of crap. In fact, it is almost a proverb in the game to use the example of Zebo/Honeybunch as proof that "Best-to-Best" doesn't necessarily produce squat.

And yet I have always said that, if you get an initial disappointment by breeding two excellent animals together, if you stay with it, and if you re-shuffle the deck with additional breeding tweaks, you can still bring out the excellence once again.

So I just think it is an interesting factoid that Zebo/Honeybunch didn't produce squat ... and yet their son and their daughter bred together produced a Grand Champion ;)

Cheers,

Jack

Like seeing that Hammonds blood in there. I don't know much about the other dogs there, but the color and confirmation of your dog looks like a Hammonds bred dog.
