After using (not buying) most of the ones on the list I can say Stillwater will be the only one of those, or any other, to get my business.

My vote goes to Stillwater. My reasoning is because Shane has always provided me with quick service and his products that I've used have always been first class and Bulldog strong, not to meantion he's the type of guy that will throw in an extra collar from time to time. Also for the price I feel he's hard to beat.
Hurricane Kennels collars, not being made any more tho.
Obrian's get my vote! Fast timely service. Honest and easy to deal with. Most of all there products hold up and are bulldog strong. Never had any bad dealings or bad products from them.
Stillwater for me.
Quality + Price + Quick turnaround = My purchase.

I use eppinette’s and stillwater
Appreciate the feedback and replies. Which collars do you think hold up best with a dog who's housed on a chain?

I've had great success with Stillwater collars. On chain setups the double tongue on buckles have given the greater life span of use. I haven't tried any of the other vendors and at this point Stillwater is on time every time, and in my opinion worth the money. If ain't broke don't fix it.
Obrian's collars hold up the best for dogs on chains. Very durable collars. Just my take but I haven't experienced collars from all the mentioned suppliers. Just Stillwater an I was not satisfied with there products.
I like the single buckles myself.
But I do not have any issues with the chained dogs on Stillwater collars. I use to have a lot of the O'Brien collars. I had no issues with the O'Brien collars either. Both served me well. The Stillwater collars go on sale more often and the bundles make them cheaper.
Most of the time I just need 1 or 2 collars so a few of us will get together and buy the kennel pack. Works well.

I agree. I had a few Stillwater and i didn't have issue. They also were in Kennels

I have used most on that list and Stillwater is my favorite.. Gary's collars (which I would rate #2) are very durable, will probably last longer than the dog wearing it, but they can be hard to work with due to the their stiffness. That gets aggravating when removing a hound from its chain daily for work.. Stillwater has proven to be extremely durable on a chain as well, but is easier to buckle and unbuckle than GH's collars. Stillwater's quality and great service puts them at the top of the list for me.
I'm hearing XDREAM also makes some good collars, any feedback?

I've used a number of different collars over the years, both nylon, seat belt nylon, and leather. Most are double ply thick and about 1 1/2 inch wide.
Anyone remember Acme Kennels? About 17 yrs ago they made 2 ply leather collars with rivets and not stitching so they were very strong and did not stretch or wear out. And they looked sharp too. I still have a black one and a burgundy one in 1 /12 inch wide 2 ply leather and even at 15+ yrs old both are in excellent condition. But Acme Kennels is long gone and not making collars any more.
The O'Brien's collars are good too, I have been happy with those. I heard that Wade Davis was making these collars for O'Brien's Supply, and he is a good collar maker. I have a few from him that were given to me some yrs ago and they are good strong well made collars.
I don't know if Wade Davis still makes collars but his web site is still up --

The Hurricane Kennels collars are excellent, strong yet soft on the dog's neck. Are they still making collars? Their web site is still up…

Xdream are $20 each. I personally never tried them but I've always bought collars from Stillwater in the bundle package and have never been disappointed. Z

I'm fan of the Stillwater collars myself. They are well worth the money and the customer service is top notch. I've got one from him almost ten years ago and it still holding bulldogs in place now.
The same. I have one I bought from him in or around 2007 at a show in NC. It is still working for me just fine.
The kennel packs and the frequent sales, and the occasional discontinued colors make it a really good place to shop for collars.
At Tom's year before last I got a call from a buddy who could not make it and asked me to pick up some collars. It was later in the day. He got a variety pack. 4 pink ones on top of that.
Littermate brothers got a pink one and a red one. I felt bad for the little guy with the pink collar. You know the other dogs were making fun of him. LOL

I'VE DEALT WITH SHANE A COUPLE/FEW TIMES,,,,,, BUT WHEN WAS THIS, CAUSE NOWADAYS STILLWATER'S GETTIN MORE COMPLAINTS THAN LOVE. DON'T GET IT TWISTED, A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO I'D BE RIGHT THERE WITH YA, BUT ON PEDS THERE'S BEEN A COUPLE OF THREADS MADE COMPLAININ ABOUT HIS SERVICE NOW. BECAUSE OF THIS I HAVEN'T ORDERED ANY NEW COLLARS FROM HIM (REASON BEING IS BECAUSE I'M REAL CRAZY WHEN IT COMES TO ORDERING SHIT, I'M VERY IMPATIENT). SO I DON'T BOTHER. I NEED TO HEAR MORE POSITIVE FEEDBACK FOR ME TO GO BACK, I'LL BE DAMN IF I JUST ROLL THE DICE .

Agreed! But knowing how most people are I"m sure they won't. He had personal stuff going on, not sure what happened in each case. Just saying. He's a good dude. He's not out to fuck nobody over that's for sure.

SEE, I DON'T BELIEVE THAT BECAUSE FOR THE MOST PART WHEN IT CAME TO COLLARS "SHANE WAS THE MAN" AND THOSE THAT COMPLAINED WERE FOLKS THAT ORDERED FROM HIM BEFORE SO HE FUCKED OVER CUSTOMERS THAT HE ALREADY HAD, I'M JUST SAYIN.

I'm not disputing that. I'm saying, knowing how people are, they will complain and talk shit in public but when the "bad deed" was "made right" most do NOT go public and admit they were made right. That's just how people are.

I ordered parting sticks months ago. No sticks, no answered calls, nothing. I’ve never had any problems with Shane. His business was great before this one mixup. With that being said I won’t jump to the negative. I’m more or less hoping he’s ok. He’s held my yard down too long to be upset. Who knows.

@brokeback , no problem I moved away from the old type of collars because of the burns and the smell , I have started using a material that is being use by more advanced horse owners

Not for nothing my friend, you won't be disappointed. I've used just about all of the well known dudes and without a doubt there padded collars are in a different league and to be honest I have 11 collars out there that I have taken off and replaced with BULLDOG SUPPLY and that's no shit. I am not linked to them in any way I just appreciate quality when I see it.
