I got a quick question for you Jack and anyone else for that matter. Do you guys have any general tips/practices, must do's, and definite don't do's, and things to be careful of for the pups and mama from the delivery date to the weaning stage at 3.5 weeks? I read your great blog on weaning the pups around 3.5 weeks but would like further incite, experience, and tips for the first 3.5 weeks for the pups and mama.

Thanks!

Other than my two articles, Management of the Pregnant Bitch to Delivery (http://www.thepitbullbible.com/forum/content.php?167) and Weaning Your Pups (http://www.thepitbullbible.com/forum/content.php?169), what is it that you feel unclear on?

I agree, I have yet to cover the window between birth and weaning, but I do have that covered in my 20 Years of Breeding Secrets DVD (http://www.thepitbullbible.com/DVDs/20years.html), which is available for purchase, but which I haven't yet got around to posting that here (but I will!).

Essentially, vigilant puppy management within this window involves checking them at least 4-5x per day, making sure all pups are well-hydrated ("firm, round and full-packed"), that no pup appears weak or pushed off to the side. If any pup (or group of pups) seems weak, dehydrated, or is listless (is crying a lot), then follow my How to Feed Orphaned Pups (http://www.thepitbullbible.com/forum/content.php?168) article.

Hope this helps,

Jack

I agree get the 20 years of breeding secrets dvds and/or the PBB. They both give you all the info you need but the key is you have to apply the practices for them to work.
