False Pregnancy

Just looking for some feedback regarding this issue. I have witnessed a false pregnancy in the past, where my bitch was bred, prouduced milk, but didnt produce puppies. However, not until recent have I had a bitch who was not bred go thru her heat, and then produce milk at a later date like she was carrying/expecting a litter. Has anyone else experienced this? Inquiring because I was under the impression that a false pregnancy only takes place when an actual breeding has happened. All responses appreciated.

No, a false pregnancy can occur whether they're bred or not.

Thanks for the quick lesson. Glad it did not interfere with our process. It really through me off. I will have to do more research on the causes and conditions which may contribute to that. Thanks again.
