Did anything ever get bred off of roja? And was there more than just paco off of whitehead? And do you know what kind of a dog paco ended up?

Yes, they did, back in 1996, but I have long since lost track of them :cry:
3 years ago, a Silverback/Sassy male, Grape Ape, went to Italy also ... to different owners ... as did a son of Rocko named Fiddlefoot.
Unfortunately, Grape Ape died, but last I heard they really liked Fiddlefoot.

Didn't the same cats own vise grips predator (1xW). If I remember right they were breeding the whitehead stuff (1xW) into the predator stuff. (wouldn't have minded one of them!)

Yes, but the same blood is right here in the good old USA 8-)
Whitehead and Roja were also brothers of Hornet, and Predator was just a brother of Thunder/Screamer. In fact, Hornet to a daughter of Thunder is what produced Ch Mr. Serious ROM, so we already know it works, because it is already working :mrgreen:
Matter of fact, Rainman's dog Ch Diesel was sired by Mr. Serious' brother Boots ;)
The blood seems to work wherever it gets off the plane, doesn't it? 8-)

I put Diesel up there waiting to get laid. 8-)
All hounds have been ready for winter for a while, but winter is more than late, only water and damn storms.
Scratcher might have some kind of cancer.. She got something in her stomach and one nipple looks just same like her mama Sassy had. It's sad to know that dogs in her ped has died because of cancer. She will be taken to a vet to find out what that is.
Anyway, we've planned to breed her to Diesel. I'm crossing my fingers that she will be with us many years. She is really nice even as a housedog. Never brake anything. Just happy easy girl. And produced good when bred right!
Looking forward to get something soon from overseas ;)

You guys take the best possible care of your dogs, this is clear as day, but they all gotta go sometime :cry:
I know that, whatever happens, you guys did your best and that you gave her a great life ... and hopefully, you will have at least a few good dogs down from her to keep the ball rolling 8-)

Cancer is the #1 cause of death in all dogs, of all breeds, not just Poncho dogs, so developing "dogs that don't get cancer" will be a pretty tough road to hoe.
Poncho dogs just happen to get cancer earlier than some other strains, IF you feed them lousy food, but this "early cancer" trait didn't start with Poncho. The fact is, Poncho out-lived the Hollingsworth dogs that he came from. While Poncho may have been dead at 9, the fact is his mother Hollingsworth's Miss Trinx died at 5. Her mother, Patrick's Lady In Red, was dead at 7. Patrick's Little Tater, who sired Lady In Red, was dead at 3. So I would hardly call this a "Poncho dogs" trait, seeing as he out-lived 3-generations of his ancestors. I would say this trait is coming from Little Tater, since he died of cancer quicker than any dog before (or after him).
The other fact is, I have already figured out WHY these dogs are getting cancer so early, and I have already revealed the secret of avoiding this: Feeding the raw diet I recommend is the best way to avoid ANY dog getting it early. Although she didn't get fed raw for most of her life, Missy did get fed raw at the very end and lived to be 12. Sassy lived to 12 ... Tuffy lived to 12 ... Phoenix lived to 13 ... etc.
Therefore, the people who get these dogs will either listen to what I have to say, and follow it, or they will not ... and suffer the consequences of not listening to those who know better.

Wasn't trying to imply the question as a poncho tait. I just meant poncho himself was haunted by this gene due to the fact of some of the ancestors like little tater, which developed the cancer early in life. I was just curious whether or not if you had noticed even the smallest difference in any of the crosses done with poncho that tended to be more resistant to the cancer, which does indeed haunt the whole world of canines and many other pure bred animals.
(and I did not know phoenix made it to 13!!!) (I do feed mine good and hope they all make it that long... )

I heard nothing but good things about Diesel. I'd like to breed to him myself. Fiddlefoot is still in great shape and very well taken care of by his owner. The youngsters off of him crossed to Slim Shady stuff are very promising. He brought a lot of bones, athelticism in them dogs. I will post pics later. Pure talent for Cappuccina as she always made it look pretty easy. Insane bottom end for Dashy. Pups should born in a couple of days off of him and a double daughter of Ch Slim Shady. She made ch overhere in the old world. She has never been able to drop any pups. What a shame but she wasn't healthy by anyone standards. On another hand Poncho/ Ouch / Coca Cola PROVEN and WORKING blood crosses amazingly with almost everything. Kept linebred or used as an outcross it is to our humble experience a first class source of competitive gene pool.

Thank you very much for letting me know about Fiddlefoot ... I was just talking about his sister Angelina and his brother Rocky Spike (who is hooked now) in the Spikey thread :D
Very nice-bred dogs you displayed, thank you for doing so as well, and I am glad you liked the information on Ouch!
I will try to add more "bulldog history" as time permits; right now I am working on a blog post on coccidia that I will cross-post here.
