If the bulldog community could come together and organize like the Cock fighters, we would be a force to be reckoned with!
The cock fighters believe they will start to legalize cock fighting within the next couple of years. I have already seen the cockers rebuilding their flocks where I live, this is interesting.

In case you haven't heard, you don't have to do anything to be convicted of animal cruelty, just owning these dogs has been enough to get convictions. Its a racket!!
Legalizing may not be the answer, but sending folks to jail and charging them with multiple felonies for combat sports with animals is ridiculous.
A lot of money is being channeled into convicting alleged dog fighters and breaking up families.
It's very possible the sport could be legalized but it'll be a damn tough battle. If cock fighting does become legal I don't see how the same will not happen with dogs.

I don't think it will become legal (dogs), but on the other hand I never thought I'd see to grown men locking it up on prime time tv. Or the legalization of marijuana, especially after all those commercials I watched as a kid with the frying pan and the egg! lol

When joe soap thinks about canine combat he envisions fido being locked in the trunk of a car with two savage pitbulls. The typical media hysterics have created a stereotypical view that couldn't be further from the truth and has actually caused more harm and cruelty to animals over the years than any dog man could do in ten life times. Don't hold your breath for a change in the laws, I can't see it happening in this lifetime.

The government dosent care about animal cruelty, they dont care about drug users or abusers the care about money. When they get a piece of the pie(tax revenue) then it will be legal.
You show me one "dogger" who's gonna put his neck and his dogs neck on the front line in hopes to make a change. There is not enough people with these dogs, enough people who agree with the cause who DONT own dogs, and not enough millions/billions of dollars to go around to make a change. People don't give a shit about chickens like they do dogs, cuz if they did there would be a bunch of chickens with a sad song in the background on these humaniac commercials.
If anything, people should focus on chain laws and breed legislation. I they can't outlaw the breed then they just outlaw the way we keep them. People should focus on winning small battles that are being lost like chain laws cu those ultimately have more effect than anything. Giving reason to enter your property and take your animal just based on how you house them and not what you do with them.

how dumb can you be to expect the law to change something, ok folks the law is now changed u can fight BUT u need to be registered and a government observant will watch your show and tell you when its getting to cruel and you should pick up. a licensed vet need to be present at all times and treat your dog after the show, at full charge.

I've been on both sides of the fence cockers r just a different breed of people..they are honest with each other and they really work their animals..the birds are not peddled like these dogs.when was the last time you heard somebody say wow that bird looks cool I want one...most of the people and dogs don't even work there animals.Plus there's a lot of low lives involved in these dogs as well as thieves.

Agree with the above posts. Three of the downfalls in the dogs are exactly as listed above. One, there is money to be made, and two, and worse, there is the appearance of money to be made. The third would be "I am cooler and tougher when I own a pit bull". These three greatly minimize the pure sport in the game but greatly expand the game at the same time. That expansion is made up of the very people who should not have a plant, much less a pet, and even less a bulldog.
I grew up in the birds as well. It is a different group of people. It is a cross section of society like most groups. There are good and bad, but not to the percentages in the dogs. Like the dogs there is money to be made, but it has to be earned, as peddling chickens is a tougher sale.
My Pops use to say, "The chickens are a Sunday morning sport and the dogs are a Saturday night sport and it is two different people hanging out during those times. EWO
It is very possible but sitting around and talking about it wont do it, bulldoggers would have to come together and really become organized, those who say it cant be done should look at whats happening with marijuana,also look at country's like japan who hold huge events for their animals??

1.marijuana has medical benefits
2.illegally grown marijuana is often sprayed with dangerous toxics to keep the bugs of, legalization can help get the user a clean product
3.it will reduce criminal activity and dangerous situations where people grow at home with poor electricity connection
4.the government has huge financial benefits from legalization
now what benefits does dogfighting has? can you seriously compare those?
im not trying to argue im just showing you that once people come together for something change can happen,do you really think the governement cares about the benefits of marijuana and its healing properties when they have made it illegal for such a long time??? its obvious they already knew about the medicinal qualites thats why they made it illegal in the first place, they only are letting it now because people have become informed about its benefits, o yea and one more thing, it will bring in huge amounts of $$$$$$$$$$$

in my country we had pitbull ban for 15 years, which has been lifted since 5 years. when they just became a banned breed, most fanciers discarded their dogs while the real dog man kept a hold of them. I wasnt active back then but i can only imagine how hard it was to do so in such a densely country and the law hunting for pitbulls.
most of that same people now wish that ban still existed so only the real dogman remain again and maintain in silence. keeping the funny people and attention away from the breed.
even tho ( at this moment while things are still good) im happy i can openly hold them and walk them in the day time, in my vision that is a far better, more realistic desire in modern day, than wanting to legalize dogfighting. which is a step in a whole other direction.
