I was told the best breaking stick to use is a plastic tent spike. Cant be used in court, as a breaking stick.( its a tent spike) cause a love camping. :D
That is the only way you can form a true opinion, is to try it out for yourself ... so thanks for doing so & glad you like the info :)Quote:

iv imported those from o briens aswell. good stick. can be a little slippery on the hands tho
I hate the poly sticks unless the got a leg can't get it in the mouth but did have drama with the oak 1's but seem to have worked them out might have to try the poly again in case it was operator error hahaha...
i always made mine outta old hammer handles...
Many make a good stick but they are made to be versatile to customers most are to short or to thick hard to get into a hogs mouth i make my own wood and polyurethane

Tennis Racquet Grips. They work great on that handle.
I am an O'Brien's fan myself. Nice poly sticks. They work well. And they are basically inexpensive. I like the poly because I leave mine outside at the dogs. It is more durable in the elements than the wood. I hang out two or three spaced out amongst the dogs for easy access. EWO
First sticks I had were made from the same. Hickory hammer handles, had a Deer antler given to me later. Used a leather strip, tied it to the staple on the end of the hammer. I've even made sticks out of paint roller handles. LOL Now I have a set of poly sticks from Overtyme Kennels.
most mass-produced commercial breaking sticks seem to look more key chain ornaments, maybe best to make your own, its easy as hell.
Here's some sticks I made, a lot of guys from here and the uk bought them from me and where fairly happy with them.
These where some of my early efforts but I've gotten a lot better at them, they work nicely I think.

Definitely a nice colored stick to have just in case your awoke @ 3AM to the yard going off. LOL
These are made from chopping boards, the boards to get are ones they call a marzipan board from a professional kitchen supply company, the marzipan board is a more solid plastic and gives less flex. I cut the shape out with a jig saw and then shape them on the belt sander. They're quite easily made.
my antler guy custom carved to my specs a while back. good grip and sturdy. lost a few leaving them in the yard but thats my fault.
A buddy makes these custom breaksticks with quality wood. Butchered to last. Each breakstick is never duplicated, each has there own unique design.
Always had good feed back from these hickory sticks

One accident lead to another, make sure you don't forget the stick.
Does anyone still sell those deer antler defangers? I'd like to snag a couple.
Ordered a 4' x 5' x 2" 3/4" industrial cutting board last week gonna see what type of designs I can come up with. Not that I don't want to pay for these kennels supply's products I just enjoy crafting anything leash's, sticks, mills... Have tried it all so far haven't failed
