Big Grin Poncho x Mayday and Nico Jr. x Poncho

No better board to ask this on then this one right here...not to mention, I'd like to hear Jack's input on these crosses and the combo.

Somebody tell me something about the crossing of Poncho and Mayday also Nico Jr. and Poncho and the combination of the three.
I have something I want to experiment with and I'm looking for info on what these two crosses and the combined effort have brought to the table in the past and has it withstood the test of time regardless of how recent it was actually done. Please be experienced in the combined lines I am asking about if you would so kindly share with me. I'd much rather hear the down side, than to hear some he said she said rumor that your best friend's brother's cousin told your partner down the street.

Thanks for your time and info in advance.

Some damn good dogs have come from it. I like that it brings the size down a lot from the Mayday size but the ones I see have taken on the Poncho style the head and face style. Also that breeding Poncho x Kitana produced just some damn good dogs Mister, Hero, Poncho Jr & Man o War who defeated a Ch. Dogs down from Mister & Hero are still out here doing the darn thing with Hero producing the 2 known Ch Brothers who were face workers and even Mister dogs that are still here mostly through the SSB Mister II still are some face workers. Even down from Hot Tamale who produced Ch Heavy D and then he produced GrCh Hobo who was another good head dog who could work one over. What I've seen is strong very strong head/face dogs that have good stamina and the dogs also have some finish to them..

In general, I would say the cross produced some solid dogs.

Most were not smart enough to suit me, but they were game, thick, durable animals that were hard to beat ... just on their strength and durability alone.
They wouldn't die, they were powerful & brutish, and they wouldn't stop trying.

The best ones were very strong, very game, very hard to hurt, and carried some really heavy mouth.
Dogs like ManO'War (who beat a 5xw), Murder (who beat a 6xW), Hero (who was never matched, but was devastating), Mister (who broke the bones of every dog he was ever rolled or matched with), Poncho Jr., Ch Mr. Serious (3xW), Ch Pierce (3xW), Ch Monster (3xW), etc.

The very best individual (IMO) didn't have quite the mouth of the others ... but he was smarter, faster, and more athletic than they were ... and that was Ch Miagi (4xW). He was never bred, because died of kidney failure from being matched too often without being allowed to recover fully, but he was a truly game, truly slick, truly determined GREAT bulldog.

The Nico Jr. mixes didn't impress me as much ... they were weaker-bodied, acted funny, and made cur signs I didn't like ... however, when I bred one back to a pure Poncho/Mayday dog I got much better results (Topaz, her brother Jr. Poncho, etc.).

Thanks both of you fine fellows for the info. Its seems that most have the same or around the same things to say (except for the haters of course).

How are you wanting to experiment with the blood. (pm me if you don't want to share it with everyone just yet.)

we've had a couple down from boom. A son and a granddaughter. The son was freakishly strong for his size and had intelligence above par for sure. The granddaughter who its doubled up on the mother, (who happens to carry the mr serious stuff is very nice temperament, build, strength, etc. not quite as powerful as the son, but still really strong. Absolutely no complaints all around on either one.) The man who owns boom is not far from me and really thinks alot of him. As far as the intelligence goes it is their with his particular stuff. Unless we have just been lucky, but I don't feel that is the case as I have heard him discuss the above par intelligence of his dogs, and believe him to be a very honest individual.
Might not be what you were looking for as far as info goes but hope it helps in some way.
