    "Double whammy?"

I think it is a concoction comprised of ingredients everybody should already have in their med box, purchased separately.

I think over worming can be a problem with this product. I agree the ingredients should be purchased separately and given when needed.

    Thumbs Up

    No doubt and good point.

I actually argued with the guy (on PedsOnline) who produces it ...

For a long time, he refused to state what the ingredients were, which I told him was illegal (and unethical).
I repeatedly advised that you can't sell drugs unless you list what the active ingredients are -- and the amounts per/ml.

He finally consented and did so ...

Hey, everyone is entitled to start their own business, and if the product has those exact ratios I am sure it *is* effective.

But it's nothing I can't whip-up at home myself, and (I agree with you) I don't need to be giving huge amounts of every wormer possible every time I worm a dog. Especially tapewormer.

Still, if the product does consist of those ingredients, I am sure it is effective in nuking worms.

Indeed, I agree...i would not want to overdo the praziquantel or fenbendazole. I guess it would be of good use as all-in-one type wormer...but I defenately would not use it monthly!

Just to add my two cents. You should have a regimen for worming. Using something that is supposed to get ALL worms can be toxic. Back when I started, they had the Purple Pill (triple wormer). My mentors told me that I should use it. After many years of research, I found that wormers should be used as a regimen. The only wormer that I use every month is Ivermectin (heartworms). Be sure that whatever you use is regimented. I don't believe that an "all-in-one" wormer is good to use a lot. I might use something like this if I got a new dog on the yard but not on the dogs that are on a regimen. JMHO

You rotate the wormers so as not to build resistance to all the drugs at the same time. Treat worms with one type and any resistant ones can be removed with another type of wormer later. Always changing it up keeps the populations down; the worms that survive one type of drug will continue to reproduce only to get wiped out by another type of drug they have not built resistance to. Rotation I think is the key to healthy livestock and I don't know if all the drugs present at one time have any negative results or would be toxic when mixed together. Too many variables??
