    Danny Burton

Danny suffered a stroke this past week due to a blood clot. He could use our thoughts and prayers

He's got to be in his late 60's now. Guy is one of a kind. As authentic as John Wayne for sure.
That dude squatted what is still a world record, for weight and age, 900 or 930lbs at the age of 58 weighing about 260.

Damn, hope he's okay. This is not the year for old timers ...

Danny just turned 69, he's been sedated heavily. They brought him out of sedation briefly to check his responses. He could move his fingers and toes voluntarily, then they resumed the sedatives. Danny is a true American original. He's got a ton of fight him, my money is on a quick recovery

I hope he will be feeling better soon! That is a good sign he can move his fingers and toes, so I wish him a complete recovery from this.
Common sense isn't so common these days.

Danny wrote me a while back and wanted a Pedigree and Photo of Mayfield's Snake dog. I found the pedigree but not a photo. if anyone has one. Send it to me and I will see he gets it. I bet he recovers faster than most. It is hard for such a strong health nut to stay down. He was the last guy I
would have thought of, that would have had a stroke. Randy Fox

Send the photo to. randyfox70@yahoo.com Thanks

Hello Foxman. I believe the Snake dog was originally owned by Ron Jackson and was called R. Jackson's Rattler. When Don Mayfield had him he renamed the dog Mayfield's Snake.

The correct pedigree is listed on this site. Dog id = 7085. I never saw the Snake dog personally but V. Jackson may have. Seen a picture one time showing a dark brindle dog listed as Mayfield's Snake. I thought the Snake dog was a dark red dog like the Snake Jr. dog. But not 100% sure.

My first breeding of my Young's (Coplin) Tina bitch was to the Mayfield Snake dog. The whole litter were good to very good dogs. Was three or four champions out of that litter. The last stud dog Mr. Coplin was using before he passed was a young black male out of this breeding.

I sent him this pup and he named it Coplin's Carolina Kid. Mr. Orbie Coplin liked Kid so much he raised Kid on a closer personnel bases and kept him in the house. Mr. Coplin and Wife loved the dog. Cheers

Will put Danny Burton on our Church prayer list. Praying for a fast and complete recovery. This dog man could write one very good dog book etc. of his life in the dog game. Cheers
