Everybody knows the Hollingsworth dogs are arguably the gamest strain of dogs ever bred, with multiple 2-3 hour dogs, and multiple all-game litters.
However, many of these dogs (though game and durable as a group of rhinos!), were kinda slow and dumb too. But my goodness, they were GAME!!!

Well, as I spent some time this Easter adding photos to some of these great dogs, I remember that the highest-ability "pure" litter that was ever born amongst The Original 28 Dogs was the Bull x Angel Breeding, which produced the following BULLdogs:

Hollingsworth's Ch Blade (3xW)
Hollingsworth's Pencil (2xW)
Hollingsworth's Dr. Savage (1xW - DG 2:10)
Hollingsworth's Hero (1xW - VG 1:37)
Hollingsworth's Riot (1xL - DG 2:02)
Hollingsworth's Angel Face

That is 7 wins, 1 DG loss to a Champion in over 2 hrs ... and 1 deeply-game bitch ... from basically inbred brood stock.

IMO, there has never been a more consistently-game, tough ... or better-looking ... group of dogs in the history of our sport.

Yeah, when I first went out there, it was with the idea of buying a Jeep female for my Jeep/Nigerino male ... and when I saw the Hollingsworth dogs I forgot all about my original plans.

I agree, if Ed had any sense, he never should have parted with those dogs. I would have been getting those other dogs off the yard myself ...

I love the renegade dogs, but Ed said the Hollingsworth dogs were just game as can be pretty much. I always scratched my head and thought why would you get rid of dogs that were as game as can be especially since when he did cross it with the bandit blood it produced a dog like CH Barbarian. Seems like there would have at-least been more of those crosses going on.

I could tell you why ... in Chris Faron's own words ... she said, "Game dogs are a dime-a-dozen," which IMO is bullshit.

Truly game dogs are actually rare as hen's teeth ... and those two had no respect for the true gameness of the Hollingsworth dogs.

The funny thing is, those Hollingsworth dogs stopped EVERY Eli dog they were ever rolled with up there ... but they always got their asses kicked first.

So Ed sold them for their "lack of ability" ... and KEPT the crap that quit to them because of their "fast action" ... and I, too, was left scratching my head wondering why the hell someone would make a decision like that.

As far as I have ever been able to tell, dogs win or lose on SCRATCHING ... and he who scratches last WINS ... so why would anyone "keep" something that stops scratching at some point ... and "get rid of" something that "looks good early" ... but eventually STOPS scratching ... if they're serious about breeding the best dogs possible?

But, yeah, Barbarian was a great dog, but I could think of MUCH better dogs to breed Miss Trinx to than Bandit ...
