I had a cat like that once, when I was a kid. Dog came after my brother and cornered him ... and our cat ran the dog off
I had one like that as well. We had a Spitz who would lay with the cat on the porch all day long. , and a doberman came on to the yard, and when he flipped the Spitz over to work him, the cat lunged off the porch, and clawed the fuck out of the Dobie, and then the Spitz ran him off. Next week I bought my first pit. Well sort of.. 3/4 pit 1/4 Labrador.. And I was hooked. The rest is history, Damn near ruined my life. Lol

That was not a bullshit "hiss" or "threat" on the part of the cat ... he flat-out rammed into that dog with everything he had ... looked back to check the kid for a sec ... then ran the dog all the way off ... then went back to stand by the kid (except mama whisked junior off).
Never seen that loyal of a cat before
The one I had, that defended my brother when we were kids, just hissed at the dog ... she did not full-on barrel into it with everything she had and physically attack it like that.
That was badass (for a kitty!)
