Idea ((( DOG OF THE YEAR )))

    Face 2 Face & El Solo's Gr Ch Titere (7xW) multi-DOY

I was pretty disappointed that the SDJ did not give Gr Ch Titere the DOY Title for 2014 that he justly deserved.

I was debating over on PedsOnline that, in the Year of 2014, which is the only thing relative to this DOY Title, Titere did something no other dog did, and that was beat a 6xW/GrCh/DOY ... AND ... become a 7xW

That is a "better accomplishment" for the year of 2014 than any other dog on the face of this earth achieved.

Therefore, logic would hold that Titere, not some "other dog" (who did something less important) should earn the title of DOY.

I realize that some other dogs did some great things (beat Champions, became Grand Champion, etc.)

However beating "a Champion" isn't beating a 6xW/GrCh/DOY, is it?
And even becoming a 5xW is flyshit, historically, compared to becoming a 7xW

If we're going to stick with FACTS, Gr Ch Titere achieved TWO things most dogs never do ... (1) became a legit 7xW and (2) *beat* a 6xW to do it.

Any year is filled with dogs that beat Champions. Happens all the time.
However, beating a GRAND Champion does *not* happen all the time.

And while becoming a 5xW is also a great accomplishment, the fact is there are twenty 5xWs for every one 7xW there is.
Folks, very, very, very few dogs ever make it to 7xW ... and even fewer dogs get there by beating a fellow Gr Ch to do it
The last time any dog did what Titere did (become a 7xW by beating a fellow Gr Ch) was when Buck beat Sandman ... and Sandman wasn't a DOY ... and Buck barely won, where Titere won decisively.

Good as some of the other contestants were, there is NO WAY IN HELL any of them made the TWO historical accomplishments that Gr Ch Titere made in the year 2014.

No disrespect to the SDJ, but it was a very poor decision on the editor's part not to give the great Gr Ch Titere the HONOR he deserved ... because it will be a cold day in hell before another dog achieves what he has achieved ... while it is commonplace for dogs "beat Champions" and even to "become 5xWs" ...

So my hat is off to Gr Ch Titere, who (in the opinion of The Pit Bull Bible Online APBT Database) was absolutely THE DOG of the year 2014

I don't think Nazi did his thing in 2014 though. I think it was like 2012-13(?)

Still, as game as he was, I don't think winning almost-dead-game is as historically-significant as beating a 6xW/DOY and earning a 7xW Gr Ch title ...

When I saw the SDJ didn't give it to him I was disappointed as he made history beating a DOY and doing it in impressive fashion a legendary animal. Grip is a great dog also so Congrast to him and his camp.

True. It is tough to make a decision when there are other worthy dogs.

But there really is nothing to debate as far as level of accomplishments go.

Doesn't mean these other dogs aren't truly awesome animals, with truly worthy accomplishments; it just means the wins they had were not as historically-significant as the win Titere pulled off.

And winning 5 is not winning 7 ...

Absolutely like I said before regardless of the DOY winner some will always disagree, but Grip is deserving.
