Owner of pedigrees but now the owner of the dog
http://www.thepitbullbible.com/forum...p?dog_id=24651
This is my dog. When I first put him all of his topside was in the database. Some of the bottom side but hardly any of the Thaxton and Woodall bred dogs. I had to enter them into the database in order to finish my Otis' pedigree.
My name is attached to the pedigrees but had nothing to do with those dogs. Never crossed my mind til last night.
Guy calls about breeding to Otis. Puts his buddy on the line who points out some 'inaccuracies' in the Woodall/Thaxton breedings. I copied the information from the ADBA and BFKC registrations and let him know and he gets borderline nasty. I explained it one more time to no avail, then quickly explained comprehension and hung up.
I understand there can't be an accurate database with multiple pedigrees of the same dog and or worse, multiple versions of the same dog. Is there a way to denote that I made the pedigree in order to get to mine, or can I add that in the comment section of the pedigrees I have no knowledge of, just a means to an end.

People are simply idiots.
If any pedigree database only allowed "the actual owner" of the dogs to put in the dog names, it could never get off the ground.
How would Carver and Tudor's dogs get put in there?
Again, people are simply idiots.
The man needs to grow a brain. He may own "his dog" (the physical animal) but he does NOT own the right to type-out the dog's name
The fact is, I am perfectly within my rights to type-out the name of any focking dog I want to, and if someone is too stupid to understand this, it is no use to "explain" (and re-explain) this fact to them.
Fella, YOU OWN THE DOG NOT "THE NAME"
If the man can't bare for another man to own the name of his dog on here, and wants to assert control of the dog here, he need only join this community and ask for control of his dog, and I would give it to him. (However, I have an extremely short fuse for human stupidity, so he would be advised to say very little to me at all, if he wanted to remain an active member.)
I have run into this issue a few times, and it is simply a thinking disorder to believe "you" have control over the use of your dogs' names all over the world. (I have had hundreds of "my" dogs plugged-into a multitude of websites, databases, etc., who TH cares?) I am certainly not going to contact each person who has ever typed the name of "one of my dogs" into a pedigree and demand that they can only do so with my express, written permission ... this is insane
A person needs to be able to accept that, if one of his dogs happens to be an ancestor of someone else's dog, that someone else has the right to type his dog's name in order to be able to formulate a pedigree ... and any person who gets emotionally upset that another human being may actually "enter his dog's name" into his hierarchical pedigree, should cull himself as an unfit human being immediately.

10-4.
Maybe after a couple of sentences he would have spoke in a better tone. There is a magical button on every phone that stops ignorance it its track.
I basically said the same as the last paragraph, I own a dog down from dogs from twenty plus years ago and I can't do a lot about how they were papered and/or registered.
Since you have already experienced it then it is nothing new, maybe for me, but no need to beat a dead horse.
Thanks. EWO
