    Mad and Skip P

*Truth be know Mad&Skip had a 22 year run breeding the Sorrells line and everything from 1981 for 22 years was the results of what Mad&Skip did, as full partners with Bert. We had 7 losses in 22years and most of them were with other blood, and only four losses with the Sorrells line.

This was part of one of my conversations with Mad and Skip.Just thought I would shed a little light on some Sorrells history.

The problem is 95 percent of the people that had or has this blood don't have a clue.how to breed it..That's why u didn't or don't see more.

Sometimes that isn't a bad thing as long as it is still working and perpetuating itself with the right people. If everyone had it, it wouldn't be as special.

I don't really believe the 7 losses in 22 years bit personally, but that's just me.

Mad and Skip did a lot with Bert many years ago. They broke one of his dogs outta "jail" when taken. They took his carpetmill keep and continued on with great success. They deserve a lot of credit for what they did all those years ago.

Frosty it is a incredible record and I can understand someone not believing it.

The math didn't add up in the first post. Only 7 losses in 22 years with most of them being other blood, and only 4 losses with the sorrells blood. 4 out of 7 is most of the losses, unless he meant he had 11 losses with only 4 of them with the sorrells dogs. Either way, it is still a great record.

I noticed that to and he could have just misworded it somehow but those were the exact words I got so I left it like I got it.

I have a chance at maybe getting some of that blood in the next years to come but I'm not really sure if it will happen or not. I know someone who is in touch with them and if everything works out, I may end up with something. It would be nice to breed one of my females to something down from that stuff....Uncle Bud blended with the CB/Josie dogs. My old bloodline that my dogs are down from carried that Bull/Josie blood through the Belle Star bitch to a fair degree and it might bring up some of those traits back out of it. I really liked the dogs down from the Belle Star bitch.....good, solid game dogs with a lot of intelligence and stamina.
