    Working dogs with cutters missing

Hi all,as the topic title says really, would you work dogs with cutters missing? I know they bite with a full mouth of teeth but opinions of how much disadvantage they are missing and how many cutters missing would it take to stop working a dog or if you would at all. Thanks in advance WCW.

To me its a case by case thing. Not all dogs get a deep full bite so sometimes it does matter. If the dog gets full bites i dont mind if they only have 2 cutters as long as their mouth is high enough on a 1-10 scale and they get full bites.

Thnks for that. If im honest ive a young bitch here with all 4 cutters worn or broken, she has been looked at once but want to see her down for myself,i know she is probably at a disadvantage but how much is what i was looking to determine hence the question.

I understand the question I've been wondering when it happened to me, but nobody can answer that question for you. See if she can still hold the same as did before. That's the most important imo.

She lost the cutters playing with stones and bricks i was told when i got her. I bought her purely on her breeding. Now i just want to get a look to make sure the important things are ok.

When your tools are compromised or missing looking isn't going to hurt in anyway shape or form. So long as when you look you take that into consideration.

If your bitch is for breeding purposes, her tools don't matter as much as where her mind is during the looking process. If you were talking about competing then what gotap_d said is spot on.

    My 2 cents...

Bottom cutters are a higher priority than uppers. Had a bitch with one top cutter missing. Never knew it.
