Yes, it is definitely an "official color."

While I don't know the exact science behind it, there are basically genes that control coat color as well as nose color. Chocolate itself is some kind of diluted black gene with a rednose. And, just as red/rednose dogs can be anything from almost a mahogany-red color with a red nose, all the way to a blonde color with a red nose, essentially it works the same way with chocolate-colored/rednose dogs. Therefore, "milk chocolate" is almost like a blonde/rednose, except he's still got the diluted gene for black in him.

If you look at them close, you can kinda see the difference, but sometimes there's no way to tell ... until you see a black/seal pup come out, when the other parent isn't black, and then you realize that what you have is a "milk chocolate" rednose (not a blonde/rednose), as is what happened with Vanilla Ice

Guys from my personal experiences with slices offspring he is producing very well. I would not sleep on this dog. Actually thinking about crossing my dogs into him soon.
