forfeit and wager

With a small bet and a small forfeit there are tons of people that will come in over and pay the forfeit. On the flip side of that here are tons of people who 'just want to get there dog done', get caught up in the hype of the night and then decide to do it anyway. Without actual data odds would say the heavy dog wins so one would lose the money and at times the dog. It is a bad idea all the way around but it happens.
I have no problem collecting on a forfeit but it is a letdown after all the work getting ready. What pisses me off is when the other camp knows they are paying the forfeit weeks out but hold out to the last minute hoping the other guy pays up first. It is a bullshit cat and mouse game. Years ago in my first get together I had a really nice male. A cat from the mountains of NC saw him go and was really impressed. It was a four card deal with guys from all over. I unload my male and just so happens he is friends with the guys we are playing with that night. He tells them they do not have a chance and they pay the forfeit after the weigh in. I was fighting mad but I learned quickly the money carries the weight in the game regardless of how it should be the other way around. EWO

In the past I had no problem taking their money twice. Once after the weigh in, and again after the show. Most often, the heavy dog is not 100% on at the heavier weight, rather the other party let's the weight get away from them that last week as they back the work down and can't get it off on show day no matter how much walking they do. You better believe that if I spent 8 weeks in a keep up to 6 hours per day that I was not going home after taking the forfeit.

So if you came in on weight and the oponent came in 4 over you took th forfeit and went ahead eith it and lost are you going to take the loss on tje chin or bitch about it and blame the weight?

Covered this in another thread about coming in on weight. If the dog is 1 pound over at the beginning he will be more than 1 pound heavier than you at the hour mark, maybe even more. The odds say you will lose more than you win. But to each his own. EWO
