I dont know the ped on the dog Grip just whipped but his name was Home Boy a 2xw
At this stage of his career, facing a 2xW is almost a no-win situation.
Many times a multi-winner can "grow old" overnight, while the 2xW may be comparatively fresh and undamaged. Thus a 2xW might be a more dangerous opponent, actually, than facing another multi-winner ... especially if he's a good one ... because the multi-winner's best days are often far behind him. So (though it may not look that way 'on paper') facing a 2xW can be risky.
But then, if the Grand Champion wins, and puts the 2xW away, people have the tendency to think, "Oh, he 'only' beat a 2xW," after it's all said and done.
I don't think, if I had a Grand Champion (especially one that made DOY in one mag, and was on everybody's list of Runners-Up), that I would face anything less than a Champion at that point, truth to tell. It is a greater risk to the dog's reputation, if he loses, with no real payoff or enhancement to that reputation, if he wins.
The only real good about such a win, other than the money won, is the dog is now a 6xW, which is a fine accomplishment.
But it is almost anticlimactic too.
