International ROM System
Male, 4 points needed from 4 separate CH animals, 1 point per CH. A additional point for GR CH but that point only then serves to see who ranks higher on the overall ROM list.
Female, 3 points needed from 3 separate CH animals, 1 point per CH. A additional point for GR CH but that point only then serves to see who ranks higher on the overall ROM list.

International POR System
POR for males - 15 points, 1 point for every win plus 1 bonus point for CH and 2 bonus points for GR CH.
POR for females - 10 points, 1 point for every win plus 1 bonus point for CH and 2 bonus points for GR CH.

Then prior to 2010/2011 roughly South Africa had the Pit Bull Breeder's Digest, in this system the ROM and POR points were less and allowed the fraternity at that time to submit dogs for ROM/POR based on the following system:-

Digest ROM System
ROM was the following:- 3 Points for male and female, no points deducted, but here a point is only allocated for a CH and an additional point for a GR CH. The number of dogs was irrelevant.
Therefore a dog like Jeckyl was ROM for having produced Roxy, Lady Jane and Taurus. 1 for each CH and 3 points in total so ROM.
Gridler on the other hand was ROM for having produced GR CH Talouse and GR CH Countdown, only 2 dogs and 4 points as both were GR CH. When Countdown lost his GR CH status the owner of the Digest felt it was unnecessary to remove the 1 point from the 4 allocated, as no points were being deducted on POR or ROM.
Another example would be Dutchess, she achieve ROM with GR CH Star and CH X. Again when Star lost her GR CH the Digest left the title in place.

Digest POR System
POR was the following:- POR Male and Female were 10 points from a Maximum of 10 breedings.
Therefore 1 point for every win, no points deducted for quits, 1 extra point for CH and 2 extra points for GR CH, but it had to come from a maximum of 10 breedings, therefore dogs like Tattoo, Big John etc qualified as POR, even though they would not be recognised as POR internationally, only in SA.
If a dog went above the 10 breeding mark then it was expected of them to achieve the 15 points needed to reach POR as per the international rules as now more than enough breedings would determine the producing capability of that male.
The above system was flawed as certain dogs continued breeding after claiming POR status and went above the 10 breeding limit so they kinda jippo'd the system.
There was also exception (on vote by Digest members) where a female who died yet only threw say 1 or 2 litters and hit say 9 points, 1 point shy of POR would be made POR as she was more deserving of the title than those female bred a hell of a lot.
