Buying dogs don't make them your dogs.

Breeding someone else dogs with no out crosses does not make them your bloodline.

If you plan on breeding your own dogs than it takes making other people, your dogs by crossing and adding different dogs and then establishing a base for your family.
The 1st 4 generations is merely establishing 1st hand experience and seeing each dog consistently show a specific trait. You breed for traits not papers.

It's you who must see them not ask about them from others who most of the time never even seen those dogs themselves.

But 4 generations really and truly does not make you an expert yet. Once you have had hands on with 8 straight generations you will learn and see a great difference and know far more about what you feed and breed.
One major thing you will learn is that you know more and guess less about what you feed. You will have a clear understanding about your breeding program before you even breed.

There is no one just way to breed dogs but there are certain ways to breed dogs.

The very basic concept is to keep the same good dog on top.
This means that you simple breed a good male or even female to at least 1 handful of dogs and simple take dogs off the male back to each other. 1/2 brother and sister, uncle /niece, Grandparent/Grandchild and parent to child.

There are endless ways to breed the same dogs without breeding full belly mates or even parent to child.

Now you just stack dogs with that dog top and bottom to other dogs with that same dog top and bottom.

Do this and you will lock in and keep the traits.

Breeding your own will keep traits stronger and longer than breeding to other people with related dogs.
One dog, one breeder, one standard.

Just like 5 belly mates in a litter can all be different and not meet your standards so does breeders of 2 different yards have 2 different standards on what each consider a good dog.

You will stick with the dogs longer breeding your dogs you like than you will jumping on band wagons of what's new and what's hot.
