I find that eventually, there will be trouble between my dogs, even with mum & offspring.
The dogs down from a female i had (including herself) were/are focused on anything with fur on,so it is a risk to let them off when walking. If i see a long stretch with no one around then fine, but i am alert at all times. Although pretty obedient to myself, once they mature a wee bit they tend to go a wee bit deaf to my holler. Countless times on my walks,i have had to pick my dog up in my arms due to owners walking their dogs off lead. This is something that i don't like at all (with my own dogs) & it just attracts attention if your dog is screaming the place down & digging in to catch up with a dog. Now,i try to get round that by walking early morning,or when the weather is bad. Either way,the walks are not enjoyable.
Give me a laid back dog with a wee bit intelligence any day....................
