At What point would you pay forfeit? For me, hct has to have a minimun of 42, and I still have to think about it. Let's here your thoughts.

Do you want to explain which are those shortcuts and why you are making this checks?
evrey hound different you just got to no your hound in that should be no in school before u step out what in where your hound can performance but if u a bad mf it shouldt mater unless u low low on hct
If the hct is at 37 or below.... they cannot perform. There are NO shortcuts, you can use epogen, but if you use a fraction too much, you risk the blood being too thick and dog dying. The best thing to do is Check your bkoodwork before the keep, midpoint, and week prior, that way you know if the dog is being overworked, or underfed. Downtown used to feed the dog as much as he could eat during the hardest part (peak ) of keep, he said that Whatever the dog didn't use, he would dump out. Or any combination of of those three things. It has NOTHING to do with whether or not a dog is a bulldog. Everything else being equal, amount of punishment, and quality of oponent, the dog with a 55 hct quits cause he wants to, a dog with a 32 count quits cause his body just cant do it. He doesn't have enough oxygen to get to muscle or brain.
I feel pretty good with hct in low 40s, high 30s not so much.
If I was eating alot of chick/pork hct would stay low no matter how much I eat. adding greens/citrus fruit seemed to help

A lot of dogs get ruined by irresponsible owners. Whitepaw hung it up in an hour this weekend. He had won two prior. The second with an even lower count. It was a miracle he had gone 1:40 plus change for #2. Anyway, he probably would have made champion. But against all advice, his owner went ahead and showed him with this below blood count: Gentleman, IMPOSSIBLE TO WIN A WEIGHT PULL LIKE THIS. This was the count 3 days before the show , No treatment given, no additional bloodwork the day before. This is an example of what NOT to do. Its a hard lesson to learn. The owner had good intentions, and he worked hard,actually a good guy, but it was a stupid decision, a stupid mistake, and the dog paid the price. Half dog,Half owner. Just VERY upsetting.
Why did he do the test if he was going to show the dog regardless the outcome?
If its not possible to take your dog to a vet, is it possible to take some blood on your own and bring it directly to a lab?
That is *the* question to ask right there
The whole point of getting bloodwork done: to determine if the dog's system is in optimal shape and therefore capable of handling the ordeal.

Optimal shape is one thing, but that isn't even liveable. A few points less and the dog would need a blood transfusion to stay alive. There is nothing on that printout that tells you that you are ready to go. It SCREAMS... " HEY, I DON'T FEEL GOOD " dogs CAN'T TALK, IF THEY WOULD, THEY WOULD TELL YOU. .. "IF the dog is feeling good, and acting good, I'm gonna do him " What the flock does that mean??? If he wags his tail and is Happy when he sees you? THAT'S Why you do bloodwork, it tells you how the dog is feeling! The flocking dog wagging his tail doesn't tell you shit. The whole thing is upsetting.
