    the staffords of today are far removed from the apbt but the dogs that they call the irish staffbull terrier are still close but they are a newly made hybrid using english bull terrier and is usually a taller better looking dog imo now the apbt stems from the old staffordshire terrier and those were the dogs first imported here threw guys like colby and and a few others hope this sheds some light

    I have one of those "irish" style staffs. Not a bull terrier hybrid by ane means. Exactly the same looks as a pit, that is all, and this is why they say that Britts disguise pits as staffs and have all these problems with local police etc etc. Nice athletic dogs with easy temperament, good for pets. Not working animals.

    I agree that some are nice athletic dogs & ok as pets. Likewise with some bulldogs.
    As for them not being working animals,well thankfully there is working lines out there who are not available to the general public,or misinformed.......
