Say you have you an your boy, y'all got what y'all got an another dude or camp has the same type of dogs. Same breeder or litter mattes. Do you take to call out for litter mate or Cuzins of dogs?? Dog you take call out on ah dog ya partner sold them, an this is same town Racing ! Should you count towards your dog in race??
As a breeder and fan of my own line, I would never go against my own stuff. I always want my dogs to win, even when owned by absolute assholes who have them. If I hook into something related to what I have, how does my blood come out ahead?
How can your line build a % win record going against your own blood? You will always be 50/50%. As a competitor, even if you personally win 100% of the time, those other dogs will be losing 100% of the time. Maybe you can prove you have the better yard, but those other relatives may have won against other comp. I personally am loyal to my bloodline over anything else.
On my yard, I always rolled what I had, and knew who was better than whom, but that doesn't mean the dogs I sold couldn't whip the rest of what's out there 8.7 times out of 10. It doesn't mean I don't think they were good dogs that couldn't win somewhere else. Remember, the dogs can't control who owns them, and if they're related to yours I would be hoping they'd win against someone else, but that is just me.
That was my logic on it. When someone says that , they making excuses or scared to race..
I agree with Jack if I had something related in anyway i'd want to see the points add up

The Japanese have keiretsu system that is based on relationships. That's a good one to use when you look at who has access to your dogs.

thats true. Say two camps in same town deal with the same breeder one time or another. Then how does this play out. Im just one who says its not worth it to me to race them if we have littermates . They are not bad people i just dont see need for the race if dogs came from same breeder or are littermates. to me i look at it like what would the breeder do if it was up to him an they was called out with his own stuff ? Jack/Evo what would you do if one had ah dog from you an wanted to race
I personally would just enjoy the fact there were two Champs bred the way I like em. After that, I might lean toward the one whose style suited what I was after.
I don't match dogs, but as an example I rolled my two dogs Icon and U-Nhan-Rha together. At the time I these were my two favorite studs, as both had much better natural air than Silverback (though neither was as dangerous).
The two dogs were both head specialists and more like my typical Poncho dogs (Icon on the ear and U-Nhan-Rha on the nose). I put them together to find out which was better. As things turned out, even though Uey had a full set of teeth and was wicked on the face, Icon was simply faster and smarter and controlled Uey by the side of the head for most of the way ... which stretched out to be just under 1:20. By then, both dogs were pretty tired (as they had good natural air but were off the chain), and so I just stopped it at that point. It would have taken another hour to get them completely done, and I had seen all I needed to see to determine which dog had what traits. Neither dog made a bad move, they were almost never out of holds (especially Icon, who was in control), and both dogs still scratched hard at 1:20.
I had seen U-Nhan-Rha decimate other dogs that tried to hit his body; he was horrific on the face with any kind of a straight-ahead dog; he just had no answer for "The Ear Dog," Icon (who used to be called "Baby Robert T" by Robert T's actual owner). As far as I was concerned, they were BOTH world class head dogs, and I bred with confidence to both of them ... and bred each one to the other dog's sister.

If I were the breeder of the dogs or the family I would not go that route nor would I like to see someone else do it with my line/family of dogs. I have known people that would match into anything or anyone when they had one that gave them the warm fuzzies. Littermates, 1/2 brothers, 1/2 sisters, different families from the same breeder. It was a match to be won moreso than a line to be preserved or furthered. And if there is another side, I have met a guy that won't roll littermates on each other. He would rather school his dogs on others. Different strokes for different folks. EWO
I would match in to my own line, and breed off the better dog.
