    Local & Regional Champs

Why don't they get as much respect as the so called "fastlane" champs. Some people just can't travel so they go I to the best within their city or state. Like for instance, I always hear alot of shit talking on the backstreet truez' dogs. These guys didn't travel much, but they were very active beating anyone in their region with the weight. They have a endless string of champs that some people don't respect calling them "backyard rolls". Why?

Wherever there are people winning and doing well, you will always find "someone" who is jealous and talking trash about them.

Traveling doesn't make a dog any better, it just means the owner went out of his way to hook it up.

Some people just breed their own group of dogs, and go into their own circle of friends, to enjoy the company of their dogs and buddies, and there is nothing wrong with that. In fact, it could be argued that this is a cleaner, better, more sensible way to do dogs, given the legal realities.

It's one thing to win local and that's fine when you say you're open to the world and you have best ## in world people will call you out on it. BST was active and ask people around area he beat a lot of locals and he loss his share too. Every time he ventured out with one of his unbeatable Chs he lost with several quitting but being logged as game losers. It's not talking trash or downing a person if it's true. Its easier being big fish in a little pond then being a little fish in a big pond.. Folks respect BST because he was doing them but people also realize that when invited on larger scales he took more losses than he was used to. Also not saying BST did this but there are several people known for backyard wins, or rolls that turned into a bet that folks counted as a win. I respect any man who has the gull to hook one and go thru with it. When you claim to have best you got to prove it and Jack has had several dogs win in international conventions against some of best in world, Crenshaw, F.B, Fat Bill and so on and so on have had wins losses and wins over some of the best. That stands for something more than a person that loses to the best. With all respect their have been many great college players who never panned out or 3A baseball prospects who couldn't cut it in the MLB. To claim to have best in world you have had to beat best in the world.

A quick agreement with Cityswamp in regards to Backstreet.

If someone takes the time to go back and check some of the older SDJs, alot of the wins BST accumulated with his dogs were people that no one within that area even heard of. This can be verified by talking to some actual friends of BST. Some of the referees he used weren't actually there, and this also can be verified. Like Cityswamp said, when BST stepped out onto a larger scale, he became most noted for the people he lost to not the ones he won over. The people he lost to where legitimate competitors, and those can be verified as well.

Dont know the history of BST regarding validity of his win/loss ratio but have seen both http://www.apbt.online-pedigrees.com/mo ... _id=160885 and http://www.apbt.online-pedigrees.com/mo ... _id=115652
Bulldogs for sure. Also know this one's production record to be factual http://www.apbt.online-pedigrees.com/mo ... _id=327738 and I have no affiliation with or blood down from these animals.

A CH is CH no matter if he/she is local or has travel....

Fool Killer, while I'm sure both of those dogs are real, neither of them were bred or used by BST. While I don't know anything about V-Dawg's production personally, I think it's also fair to say that there has always been a lot of controversy on his production record.

King Kong, I actually know BST also just as I know a lot of people he has run with throughout the years. You nor I were a lot of the shows that BST won over the years, but I do find it interesting that in researching some of the wins of his champions that no one, not even people that have known him for years within the same "community", could verify the wins on some of those dogs. The one thing they COULD verify was the one loss that was sandwiched in there.

Mig, yes a champion is a champion no matter what. I think we'd all be a little naive though if we thought all champions were created equally or cut from the same cloth. That simply isn't the case.
