I think that may be the book TFX wrote about, where some breeder of cattle had like over 100 years of inbreeding behind his animals ... which are considered the best of their kind.

You might want to PM him your question and share here

Did that get a mention in the Velvet and Steel book by B. Stevens? I remember some horse references but I was thinking there was a reference to inbreeding cows for predictability. It has been a long time. I could have it out of place though. EWO

He is a very busy guy, and out of dogs now, but is still a member here and stops by occasionally, so he may well respond.

Let us know, because I am interested too

Possibly, but I think Bob was talking about racehorses, actually, though I can't recall.

I believe TFX got into bucking bulls at one point, and got to know one of the members of this cattle family who shared their insights with him. I am not sure about Bob, but I know for sure that TFX is the source of info here when he was speaking about them.

Apparently, this family of people has transgenerationally bred these cattle into 1) not only veritable clones of each other, but 2) images of perfection as well, all through selection and inbreeding.

I am thinking it was something to do with the King Ranch in Texas...?

The King Ranch was started in the mid 1850s and is well known for their breeding program of cattle and quarter horses.

They developed the Santa Gertrudis cattle breed --

But I am not sure of a book about their breeding program and would also be interested in what the book title would be?
Common sense isn't so common these days.
