Yep. This is why I stopped going even to public dog rolls for the most part, back when I was in TN.
I had two old-old-time friends that I knew and trusted totally. And pretty much no one else.
Saw people I sold dogs to get busted. Kept running around showing everyone their dogs. No sense. No scrutiny.
It got so if I didn't really know a person, what they had, what they had to lose, and what's been going on in their daily lives, I didn't need to be risking rolling dogs with them.
I miss seeing dogs go. Hell, I miss working on them after. Miss seeing the pride and enthusiasm on a busted-up dog's face. Miss seeing a good male hike is leg up extra high when he's proud of himself.
But I don't miss the stress of having 40 - 80 dogs on my yard, with a large percentage of them "showing signs" that something had been done with them.
I don't miss that stress at all,
