    Cecil Pond

I heard last night from a very close friend of Cecil Pond's that Mr. Pond has passed. I believe he was 85 years old and passed from a heart attack. Peace be with Mr Pond and is friends and family. Its very sad to hear about those that pass from that legendary era.

Agreed Jack. 2014 is proving to be the year that takes the most. Thoughts and prayers out to the family and friends of Mr. Pond. EWO

Ditto EWO, my condolences to Mr. Pond's family. I remember reading about Mr. Pond in the 60's issues of the Pete Spark's magazines. I do not remember how long he was a active dog man. He did have access to some of the cream of the crop foundation bred dogs back then. Cheers

I believe Mr. Pond was mentored by Frank Fitzwater, CYJ. No doubt he was around some of the best dogs of his day.

Rest in Paradise Mr Ponds. I had the honor of eating some great BBQ and sharing great stories with him and his family.

Cecil was a good honest dogman. I ask him to referee my match into Danny Burton with my Alvin dog. When Danny's dog was hanging lifeless before he would declare him dead he held a mirror to his mouth and when their was no fog . He declared him dead. He complimented me by saying Alvin was one of the best he ever saw. He bet me a twelve pack Alvin wouldn't live. I called his bet and he later paid me. I will miss him and think he was one of the most honest dogmen around. Randy Fox
